Looks awesome. Is it coming for PC? Because after seeing this video, I'm seriously considering buying a PS3 for this game.

Watching this makes Tony Hawk look a lot more "gamey." Still though, I think I'm too used to Tony Hawk and I'd end up trying to use A to ollie (or X for the PlayStation folks, where I played Tony Hawk for 7 years before the next gen games came out.) I played the Skate 1 demo and thought it was an interesting change, but I'd still rather play Project 8.

Just a LITTLE long, but good anyway.

Watching Jeff bail is just entertaining.  No reason needed.

I didn't play much of the first Skate, but what I played I absolutely loved.  It felt like a sim in a way.  I liked the freestyle challenges, where all I had to do was do new stuff and accumulate a score, and I liked exploring the world.  I sorta wished there was more to the world, but I have to say that, yeah, just increasing MY skills rather than my character's made the game more rewarding when I made it.  And I knew that there was nothing but my own skills in the way of success.

More games in general should follow that model, not just stuff like this.  Like in RPGs, I feel like I'm just moving numbers sometimes.  It doesn't need to be an action game to involve the player more directly.  Without that, all you do is min-max.  Boring.  Give me the frustration/exhilaration of games like Skate any day.

Looks like more of the same to me. I never bothered with the first skate, however I admire what they're trying to do with skateboarding games. Tony Hawk was getting really stale and I'm glad they're trying a new take on this type of game. Great video Jeff, keep these quick looks going! It's something unique and entertaining.

Ahh jeff on the jumping from lot to lot challenge theres a ramp on the third drop you need to move into position so you like bank onto it instead of landing flat when you jump
Also on the one where you handplant the backboard just start from the marker it gives you you go down the hill/bank and you get enough speed

Love the quick look videos.

Skate 2 looks decent, but I'm not any good at skating games and don't get much enjoyment from them.  The two I've got (THPS's 1 & 3) are quite enough for me.

This game is messing with my mind.  I was playing through GTA TLAD last night.  I was driving around thinking....hey, that would be a cool place to grind, or "I bet I can clear that gap".  That's when I stopped playing GTA and put Skate back in.

Also, Liberty City has some pretty sweet skate spots.  Just sayin..

Dethfish77: I'm usually not one to complain about peoples skills in a game but I think you might need to get a little better at these games before you do a quick look.

Unless the idea is to represent what the game will be like for someone who just bought the game.

They are, but then you get things like Dudedragsbench.com and it makes it all OK.
