Who's Dan and how does he have a history minor from college and didn't know about Africa battles in WW2. Shit, even playing an early call of duty would have taught you that.

To be fair, someone who minors in history has to take so few classes that its totally possible to never even study 20th Century History as a minor.

How is it possible to leave elementary school and not know about Africa in WWII?

Where the hell did you go to Elementary school? I think all I learned about WWII in Elementary school was that the world was involved and that the US "won". I didn't know Africa was even involved in WWII until I took an African History course in college.

Edit: Since I asked you I guess I should say I went to elementary school in Texas (and that might have something to do with it.)

I didn't say I necessarily learned it in elementary school only that one should have a certain level of knowledge of world events by them time they leave elementary school by reading books like encyclopedias (there was no internet when I was in school) or watching historical films etc. School is not sole place to gain knowledge nor should it be.

In the fifth grade I wrote a research paper on Japan's involvement in WWII. If you do any reading, research etc about WWII it's not hard to discover that battles were going on in Africa.

I just think, and so do many commenters as well as Drew, that it's incredible that a grown man could not know about it. Having said that I wouldn't have given it a second thought though if he hadn't shared that he minored in history.

And by the way, I'm a Texan.

I enjoy history, but much like everything else from school, I forget most of it.

Sniper Elite V2, "pretty bad"? Now I know different opinions and all, but "pretty bad"?. At it's lowest that game was average. Opinions are weird.

I actually love the Sniper Elite games.

Edit: I'm not the only one seeing the dead pixels right? I tested my monitor and it's only showing in their video. Driving me crazy!

I'm convinced @jeff in both this QL and UPF was confusing Sniper Elite V2 which is a good game with Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 which they played not super long ago on another UPF, and they game is pretty rotten.

Also, "In Africa?".... sigh, videogames idk -.-?

The real shame here isn't the wildly uneven quality of public education, but that there are Americans who have somehow never seen the movie Patton.

If you're American and haven't seen Patton, please redress this between now and the end of the Fourth of July weekend.

To be fair, there are probably people here in Switzerland (and many other countries) who don't know that. Not caring or paying attention about history is not a uniquely American trait.

Makes me think of this Mark Twain quote: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt". And also: "Don't let schooling interfere with your education".

Those lines/dots on the scope are milliradian dots or hash marks. Snipers use them to estimate range and bullet drop. Basically, one "mil" equals 3.6 inches at 100 yards and so on, so you if you know the approximate height or size of the target, you can estimate the distance. Same goes for estimating for bullet drop if you know how much the bullet will drop at distance. That's how it works in a nutshell.

This article explains everything in detail if you want to know the math behind it. It's pretty much one big algebra problem, and then if angles are involved it becomes a trigonometry problem too....

I love how in this one that they just will straight out call the testicle shots like headshots because the developers realized that was what everyone was aiming for in the last one.

Wow, I enjoyed this QL. Like literally, legitimately enjoyed it. This is probably the first time since Ryan passed that I've openly laughed at a Jeff QL. If that doesn't say anything about Dan being a good hire, wtf does?

And yeah, I don't get how multiplayer adds anything here. Like in seemingly 90% of games that aren't Call of Duty, it seems like it can be safely ignored, as the single player action looks absolutely insane.

lol I think Drew almost had an aneurysm when Dan asked if Africa was involved in WWII.

I was kinda with him. As I get to know him it seems more and more like he came out of an isolation program, I love it. He has so much knowledge but is already getting so much more out of these guys. Watching him be corrupted is going to be a delight.

Actually enjoy the game quite a bit on the PS4...the lack of people online is not a surprise to me at least. It should be but, well, shoehorned in multiplayer as always. No platinum for me I guess.
