What a shock!

I had a good time with Super Mario Sunshine at the time. Think people malign it unfairly these days.

Wow, this looks really bad. I can't believe the game was released in that state. It's supposedly built from the ground up and it looks and performs worse. Goddamn. I suppose that if I ever really get a itch for a portable version, I'll give the Vita version a try.

I request for a Transformed TNT.

Kids these days and their obsession over framerate. Brad is a framerate nazi.

PC version runs blisteringly fast and looks gorgeous. Really enjoying it.

I think Mario Sunshine is... ok. That's about the level of praise I can muster for it. It's not great.

Too bad, could have been a fun portable version.

@iamjohn: It's more likely a poorly optimized port of the vita version. That would make more sense.

PC seems to be the place to play this. It actually is pretty good, especially the map design being really dynamic. Plus who doesn't want to play as SEGA's most beloved mascots SHOGUN and FOOTBALL MANAGER.

Just got the 360 version. Seems pretty nifty, if a little rough around the edges. Now that 3DS version...woof. Just stick with Mario Kart 7.

Wow did I just read that right? Galaxy 2 had exactly as much motion control stuff as the first one - which is, not much. Just a few rolling ball levels and flying instead of surfing. I mean, I liked Sunshine and all but you guys are talking crazy. Those Galaxy games are about the only redeeming things on the Wii, and they're both among the greatest games in existence. Definitely in the top ten of what Nintendo's ever made, and that's saying something.

I don't care what anyone says! I love Mario Sunshine.

I'd buy it if John C. Reilly himself was a playable character.

Well, I don't know how's the framerate and visuals because the video constantly drops to 240p without permission and the framerate on the entire video is jacked when I go full screen. So I'll wait until everything is fixed with the player.

Games can look amazing on the 3ds but this looks really bad and those framerates, damn.

Mario Sunshine was a fun game, but everyone wanted another Super Mario 64, so we didn't see it for what it was. I'm ashamed to have never played Luigi's Mansion for the same reason, and can't wait to try Dark Moon. I remember I bought Sunshine at EB because, as I was told, I could buy it for $30, and if I didn't like it, the trade-in value was also $30.

I played through StarCraft and Tiberian Sun on my 486 back in 1998-99. The framerate was really bad (and I knew it), but you get used to it. They were still playable. And, damn, every polygonal Genesis game had framerates like this, yet plenty of people are quite fond of the odd assortment of military simulations (like LHX Attack Chopper and M1 Abrams Battle Tank) on that system.

Sunshine was great damnit.

I hope Brad will try Mario sunshine, its a really cool game.

The only way you get "used" to it is if you have no alternative. My first computer was pretty shitty, and I downloaded Little Fighter 2, an indie side-scrolling brawler. The frame-rate was literally somewhere between 1 and 2 fps. The only upside was the game speed scaled down as well, making it somewhat playable. I played it bunch, assuming that's how it was supposed to play. Then I saw it on a friend's computer, on which it ran at least 10 times as fast as mine. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes, and that revelation was pretty depressing, knowing I was having a sub-sub-sub-par experience.

For a more recent example, the Team ICO Collection was praised for improving the frame rate, as SotC was pushing the PS2 to its limit. I played the PS2 version recently, and while completely playable, it's a mad bummer when the frame rate drops to the same 1-2 fps.

The PC version runs buttery smooth and it's a fun kart racer, shame about this version.

I would say Sunshine has better core gameplay than Galaxy. The controls are more solid and the movement is much faster and "free" like SM64. Though, as far as level design goes Galaxy reigns far above both, I feel like each have their strengths and are great, fun games. Galaxy probably takes the cake, though. Due 64's dodgy level design, poor camera and then Sunshine's design taking the sort of approach of playgrounds/environments from 64 and stretching it further(which benefits the game, creates a certain atmosphere of Isle Delfino), less of the classic Mario (obstacle) course that they got back to in Galaxy.

This game looks terrible on the 3DS.

This looks like a direct port of the old ds prequal version with the transformed gimmicks forced through.

I am not normally a crass person, but my first thought on seeing this was, "Wow, this looks like ass."
