At least a few of those tracks are straight out of Rock 'N Roll Racing with a re skim. The progression & upgrades are basically R&R. But there is no killer rock soundtrack, announcer, or fun.

Now excuse me while I hook up my SNES and play the greatness that these guys so sadly failed to recreate. I do hope one day we get an HD remake of the original game somehow. I don't even want a sequel anymore. Just the original game with cleaned up textures.

Are you implying he can't do videos anymore? That's what it sounds like and that's not true. Unless you wanted to just make that joke, and that's fine.

@icytower38: You don't even need to connect up the SNES (though that is certainly the BEST solution). Rock n Roll Racing is available from Blizzard for free on PC. As is Blackthorne.

Edit: OK, I take this back. Just played RnR from Blizzard and wow, different music, no character select, no vehicle upgrade/progression. Sacrilege. Stick with the SNES. I hope Blackthorne is better...

I think it's a good idea to make the cars lock to certain angles. The 16 angled movement of Rock 'n' Roll Racing was really beneficial to controlling your car from above. You just left it at the point where it was going straight along the track. Fully analog steering without aids would just make it annoying to drive, especially in diagonals.
But hey, I haven't played this and I don't know how it feels.

btw this game could've been neat. motorrock look like it had the perspective better.
