Woohoo been wating for this one,thanx guys! I'm still sad this couldn't be a Vinny, Drew and Dave QL but I guess having jeff there is ok too, I imagine he knows a thing or two about trucks. I'll brobably pick this up and try to run it through bootcamp, don't know if it will work but it's worth a try for this. The multiplayer was described to me as day Z with trucks, so I'm interested to see what thats all about.

30 bucks is a bit much, but damn that was an entertaining thing to watch. I would never be able to handle the frustration though.

Welp, I'm impressed. They need to make this a truckin' Skyrim.

The grey mass of ditch toward 48 minutes in really looks like my experience of deeper Finnish and then Russian forests, including the beaches. Pretty realistic and well done but this is like a long stretch of moist weather had just ended with how soft it is, and I saw plenty of 5ton and heavier trucks go through the family "roads".

This should be a middleware for other games. It could become the SpeedTree of driving physics engines.

I've been playing this for the past few days.. it's brutally difficult, but definitely rewarding once you figure things out - and get the right trucks unlocked.. I'd think of it less of a simulator and more of a physics puzzle game.

Also the developers need to iron out the wonky camera

Speaking of dune-buggin. I once totally dug in a quad bike while riding on sand dunes in the desert near Dubai a few kilometers away from camp with the sun going down and no communication after everyone else already headed in. Started freaking out. Had to dig out the quad bike by hand, it had dug in even part of the engine, on which I promptly burned my hand while digging. Nasty stuff.

This is basically Trials (like, real "Trials", not the crazy-ass ExciteBike game)...wait, Drew just said that.

Also, after watching Drew DOWNshift while trying to go faster and stalling out his truck, (and subsequently wonder why he stalled) I feel like someone should donate an old, beat-up, manual-transmission Datsun to the GB crew and watch them try to drive that thing around the City. :D

This needs an add-on for winter conditions. Maybe a canadian expansion pack with ice roads. Does Siberia do ice roads?

This QL couldn't have ended any other way. (unless Jeff were playing, in which case it would have ended in sick, sick donuts)

Was excited to see them QL'ing this but yea it's a bit agonizing. This is probably not a good game to go into cold turkey. The game has a bit of a learning curve to it.

I have about 60 hours into apparently. Completed all the maps. Very cool, challenging game if you're into physics stuff.

Watching Drew fuck with the gear system was the most painful part. You don't even need to unless you're some truck masochist!

In Russia they say that there are two problems - roads and fools.

Glad they did this Quick Look; got a better understanding of why this game has been so popular.

I really like the look of this game, it kind of reminds me of Gears of War, everything looks meaty.

@cale: If you replace a few words of this, you get my reaction to Day Z.

There's no way that truck can carry that weight on that terrain. Nobody set a logging operation without setting up a dirt road, or a log road, but they sure don't drive in 2 feet deep mud, as fun as it is.

Reminds me of Rainbow 6 on the Dreamcast.

These "I have no idea what this game is!" QL's are starting to wear kinda thin.

It's one thing to jump into a platformer or FPS with that attitude, but I feel like this does the game and the people playing it here a disservice. Even a cursory search for information would have sufficed, if they didn't have the time to play the game itself before recording. This is hardly a common genre of games, but they have played simulations before and compared to something like DCS it's relatively simple. This is not a "they're bad at games" style criticism, it's just simple exasperation at a clear lack of effort.

They're busy people, they're understaffed and they have to post content. I get it. But sticking to things you can cover well under those circumstances seems like a better path to take.

Hearing two people say "uhhh" for an hour is not an engaging experience.

I like this increased usage of "Austin Powers" as a verb. Second use this year, I believe. Last use I remember before this was the Zombie Driver QL in 2011.

Also, this game is awesome. I played and modded the shit out of the demo.

This QL was brutal.

This game actually looks really impressive. The price is a bit much for what I'd want to pay for it, but still, seems really cool. Good QL too.

This game looks great! Also something about driving a truck, over a long distance, slowly bobbing along is incredibly adorable and endearing. =3

All this game needs is some mixlar integration and it will be perfect.

I've noticed that in open-world driving games lately I often keep the camera adjusted at that weird "TPS" angle. Makes it a bit easier to see in front of you and judge depth and etc.

@drewbert Just a handful tips for you (and others) since the game is dreadful at explaining itself.

• The crane is moved via WASD as you know. Q and E raise and lower the crane and R and Space rotate the crane grappler.
• You can in fact drive and winch at the same time. You just can't drive whilst in Advanced Mode. So generally speaking you go in Advanced Mode to winch yourself first, then close it to winch and drive.
• You can only use the winch if the engine is on. If your truck turns on it's side, your engine will stall, meaning you can't use the winch too. You can always use another truck to winch yourself free however.
• The map is covered in Cloaking Points which cover the area. In order to actually reveal them you need to find the centre of the Cloaking Point (which is right under the name) and just drive into it. It kinda looks like a small, black tornado.
• The wheels on the vehicle spin at different rates when accelerating. Turning the Diff Lock ON means the wheels are forced to spin at the same rate which is useful for muddy terrain but should be turned off on hard surfaces like tarmac to prevent damaging the truck when turning.
• Pressing H turns on the headlight which obviously makes it easier to see ahead of you. It does make your sides a bit darker however.
• In order to unlock garages on the map you need to outfit your trucks with add-ons that have Garage Points on them. Once you've delivered enough GP to a garage, it unlocks.
• You can leave the transmission at the middle setting since it's automatic.
• Driving too deep into water can damage your engine and stall you. You can however, drive around the water's edge to get to places but that's not recommended unless you really have to.
• The fuel cistern add-on can only be refuelled at Fuel Tanks found on the map. They are NOT refuelled at Garages even though you can refuel your trucks.
• The camera isn't great but a hood view is being planned. Cockpits are potentially planned but there's nothing solid on it yet.

FYI, you can drive while winching if you drop out of advanced mode but leave the winch attached. May have been able to save the first truck before you REALLY lodged it in there.

This is really a Vinny game... :'(

The feeling this game gives when you're in hardcore mode and you think you've finally outdone yourself and got a truck so stuck that not even the hand of God himself could lift it out - only to pull it out with another fleet of trucks after half an hour of cursing and swearing? Orgasmic. Yeah, I said it.

I have never watched a QL that made me want to play a game more. Maaaaaaaaaan. Don‘t have a pc, though.
