@masterpaperlink: Yeah, it's called Explore. It'll give you times/scores to beat, but there's no punishment for ignoring those and exploring the drop in your own sweet time.

I liked how he said the game didn't require that much skill, and yet didn't even come close to any of the top scores vs. other players, but yeah, as someone who is a huge fan of the series and can't even get close to dudes who are just okay at the series, it is certainly a game that demands a ton of knowledge and skills to do remotely well against others.

There's waaaay too much stuff about the menus in this video. The first 30 minutes has like 5 minutes of gameplay in it. Bummer.

It's funny how you have an entire quick look where you have a guy who is supposedly an expert on these games, and really wants to play it, but never gets to.

I really want to like this game but it just does nothing for me. I don't like the way it looks or how it animates, and I feel like I should like this type of gameplay but it just doesn't resonate for some reason. It's weird because I pretty much enjoy all types of games (except RTS), hell I am even enjoying Dragon Age 2 a lot at the moment.

Scoring seems a bit weird to me. 9 million points when the guy in second place only has 40k or something. Diamond for 400+ metres survived while the rest of the pack didn't make it past 3 metres... EA games always try to make you feel like you're doing well but that's a bit much.

I'm weirdly attracted to this game. Never really cared for the old SSX stuff, but this looks like I could get behind it. I suspect I'm the one who's changed more than the game.

Haven't truly played one of these since I got it for my original PS2, looks like a great game that I might pick up in the future.

Man, I have never given a shit about this game but the two quick looks have made it pretty enticing... the soundtrack is also fantastic.

Was playing the demo with some friends and our experience with it was not very positive.

*The only way to bail is if you press any of the buttons. Hitting trees and rocks does nothing

*There's tons of autosteering and magnetic rails that draw your character in

*At no point are there any sockpuppets or stopmotion cutscenes like in Amped 3

Burnout barely resembles actual racing/driving. Doesn't stop it from being awesome.

I'm assuming a bit here, but the first thing was Ryan playing maybe the very first Trick It event in the game, with an already upgraded character beating computer times. The second thing was him competing in a Global Event, which I assume has you competing with the scores of everyone else, and the game wasn't out yet.

It mostly required knowledge, but I am able to score about 20 million in the demo, and you can get at least 50 million, which is quite significantly larger than 20, and I know HOW to do it, I just can't, I'm not great at highscore type of games.

Those were bot scores, used for testing the online. They won't be in the game now, it'll be player scores you'll be competing against.

I lost interest as soon as I realized there's no real multiplayer other than ghost chasing.

I love the Ridernet features, but they really seem to be underselling the fact that there is also direct competitive play.

So many comments on the web wondering if this is the case.

Really throws me off how it hiccups hard almost every time you land.

I'm surprised at seeing some negative remarks about the game in this comment section. It looks amazing and I loved the demo. Great chill out game after a rough day with the music, tricks, and what looks to be a ton of drops. Unfortunately I won't be getting it in the mail until tomorrow.

funny i watched the video of some guys playing this demo and was able to come in 3rd place while not even touching the controller. sometimes able to pull off a full tricky just by lettin the game go on its own
