Fairly impressed by how intern-ish Kessler can manage to sound.

Kessler is close to inaudible at some points.

Does it drive anyone else crazy that nobody seems to realize they definitely rerecorded at least some of the voice acting? Falco sounds COMPLETELY different; I can't tell if the other team members were recorded or not based on the clarity of the voice acting possibly adding new enunciation.

These explosions are WAY weaker. I need those polygons to know that something died in 1997.

To say how easy they said it was they weren't doing too well.

This was weird. I can't hear Kessler that good, audio seems fucked up!

I was getting excited about the first QL in a long time, but then I saw it was patrick and kessler.

@Little_Socrates: I was wondering how nobody noticed the rerecorded voice acting. The most obvious being Andross' voice. I was disappointed when his laugh didn't sound the same when you face him.

But I have to say the 3D effect on this game is probably the standard every other 3DS game should work towards.

The multiplayer was made way to easy thanks to the auto aim of the lasers.

The voices are definitely re-recorded. Maybe not the intro, but the rest.

They totally re-record those voices I played the N64 game a few days ago just to hear them , and they totally sound diferent.

Does Falco sound like he is played by Nolan North to anyone else?

Yeah, aside from Peppy and that narrator at the beginning, they all sound totally different to me. And even Peppy sounds a little different too.

audio levels are all over the place, i can hardly hear kessler, patrick i can hear fine, and the game audio is kinda in between

got a chance to try this out in the local game store,might wait a few weeks to see where the price goes

I love me some Kessler Quick Looks. He always sounds soo happy. Makes me feel happy.

@RVonE: Doing a barrel roll in a video game did come from the original Star Fox game. But don't be crazy; the internet meme-ified "do a Barrel roll" is based on Peppy's voiced delivery from the N64 game.

Ah geeze Kessler, yer killin' me when you didn't use your charge shot on large groups, and hearing some of that voice acting, Cripes. Some if it's okay, some of it is pretty painful even compared to the original 64 game.

I also love the fact that Kessler was complaining to his team that they should loop to kill the guys on their tails, but yet when Wolf was on his tail...

Really Patrick? so you don´t replay games for their good gameplay just for the pointless achivements? I would´ve though you were not one of those I for one replay games if the gameplay is fun or if the main story/campaign is good not for stupid braggin rights and worhless achivements

All of the dialogue was rerecorded, though they did get most of the original actors back for their roles.

FUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKK!!!!!!! This game is not close enough to the N64 original. Too much retouching of the graphics. The original was one of the top 3 games on N64. It is a classic. The 3DS port is heresy. Jeff, come to my aid--you know everything I say is true!!!!!!!!

@Wes899: @Katsujinkenkik: I think what you're hearing is the result of the voice acting being at a much higher bit rate. It's higher quality audio, so you can hear things that were just lost on the N64.

On the other hand, Andross sounds COMPLETELY different. He doesn't have his awesome laugh!

i liked the quick look pairing. i dont see why people have such a problem with Kessler

The voices being all different is weirding me out. The original voices are so burned into my mind.

Because people fear change and are over-obsessed with all the original GB crew members (whom I also love, but come on).

Kessler rules. Patrick rules (he is the reason I started coming to GB since he's a great writer).

The actual story regarding Solar, which was never told in the game: Andross built a bioweapon on Solar simply because people said it wasn't possible.

Also Aquas is WAYYYYYYYYYYY better than Solar.

Peppy says 'Do a barrel roll' in the subtitles to his digital gibberish in the original Star Fox game. Of course, the early YTMND used Peppy's ridiculous sound byte from SF64.

If you've never played Star Fox 64 then this might be a good deal. As someone that owns the original release, I'll pass. Yeah, it looks better, but I don't like the VO or music as much as the original. Besides, I can think of better uses for my $40.

This... gameplay audio is much too high, and Kessler's mic is too low (or he doesn't know how to speak into the mic).

I tend to like the way the staff members play off Kessler in these QLs though.

Urngh, so much nostalgia! It's driving me crazy. Not even the Gradius II reference with Solar, but everything. So many good memories!
 
(I'd have made a Thundercats reference, but Thundercats already has a Star Fox-esque back story, so everything's already come full circle.)
