Quick Look: Starhawk

I haven't been paying any attention to this game, but it looks surprisingly fun. I might pick it up when I'm done with Diablo 3 and Max Payne.

I played the Beta it was kinda fun building stuff on the fly and droping on top some dudes when you respawn but I wasn't able to use one of the Starhawks wich sucked , but is not the game for me I don't play too much multiplayer.

That actually looked like more fun than any other competitive multiplayer game I've seen in a long time. I don't play online much, but that seemed pretty fast paced. Of course, these types of games live and die by their community. If the player-base evaporates, the game is practically useless. Are their bots in the game or is it real players only?

Looks fun. I wish the next Star Fox would be something like this.

I didn't say this in the first showing of it, but I just wanted to mention that I absolutely love the new video format. All the good parts of the old one and fixed so many of the problems of the old (the volume slide works?! those load times!). If this is any indication of how the new look's gonna be, I'm really excited.

I'm assuming you have never played the game and probably never play PS3 to begin with? Starhawk is fucking awesome, some of the most intense moments I have ever had in a video game and it's only been out for 2 days. Controls are tight, 16v16 makes for huge intense battles, and the most original game I have played in a long time.

This actually looks really cool. Wasn't much interested in the idea of a sequel to Warhawk, to be honest, but this actually seems neat

Looks cool, but I have neither the time nor the inclination to play multi player driven games these days. Well, that's what Gamefly is for.

new player works quite well for me, you know u can select how u want to watch in the top left before the video starts, there are 4 choices, so you know, less the screaming child knee jerk reaction lol

For some reason this game kind of reminds me of Dark Void, which I loved.

While I'm not particularly interested in the multiplayer nature of it, it does kind of look like a chaotic good time from other gameplay videos I've seen.

Man, this looks goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood. I love Warhawk, in fact I still go back to it every few months, so I think I'll have to pick this up soon. I hope that this has the legs that Warhawk has

he without a doubt never touched the game or a ps3 online game to say that kind of arbitrary bullshit.

starhawk is an awesome mix between vehicular combat/tps/tower defence/rts and awesomeness.

This is a really fun game, and I totally wish it were on PC instead, the controls and gameplay would be a much better fit.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that you are not a biased asshole with an agenda.

I like seeing all the different variations of jetpacks in modern games.

This, Halo: Reach, Killzone 3, Deadspace 2 all have such cool and complex looking jetpacks with so many moving parts.

Still debating if I should buy this, I think once Max Payne comes out everyone will move onto it.

@Brad They totally didn't say the year was 3407, that was that dude's squadron number or something. He was saying it to chime in on the mic by the looks of it to say he saw the anomaly on the radar too. The dude before said 1470 or something when he first spoke.

EDIT: Whoa, dat texture load-in when Jeff lands the Hawk the first time.. on the generic docking guy.. that's some ugly shit.

Despite Jeff's rather frequent quips about the game the game looked fun as hell. Though he held his composure rather well in the final game where he was basically spawn camped. Though I'm definitely at a place where I'm all, next generation, I await thee, not really that interested in buying games these days. But transforming, placing down structures, and a rather pleasant Zone of Endersish art style made for a fun looking world.

The new player is weird. I select HD before I hit play and then I still have to select 720p after the vid starts playing. Am I doing it wrong?

Sony needs to cut this shit out with all these motion comics for their games cutscenes. Seems they are doing it more than anyone.

@Sammo21: two games is a whole lot... Sucker Punch isn't even owned by Sony and nor does Sony have any say over how either company makes the game.

Hey, guys, maybe relax about the video player? I'm sure Dave and Alexis aren't going to leave us with a sub-par player for long. They're probably just transitioning to something new, and we'll have to just calm our tits until it arrives.

Actually, the inFamous IP (as well as Sly Cooper) is owned by Sony and they can tell them how to make the game, so you're wrong again.

And lastly, for a third thing you are wrong about...Sucker Punch announced that they are owned by Sony in the fall of last year.

You could at least google shit, or hell use the wiki of the site you are on before you talk from your rear.

When I saw those techs with the staple gun all I could think about was Dead Space and this game being in the same universe.

This game looks really boring.
