Between Devil Daggers and this it starting to be a year of super unique FPS games.

YOU ARE A GOOD BOY

Yeah, the top layer seems tedious and borderline stale. Between Hacknet, Pony Island, and now this, the whole fake OS thing seems like a new trend. All that aside, even from the tech demo the gameplay trick seemed neat but the pacing looks jerky. It's like a reverse Hotline Miami where the combat is slow and stilted instead of fast and frenetic.

Tree Dude is cool.

The hacking accounts for 2% of the game. You don't have to do puzzles, it's just a story bit.

The part where they chat with something awful's JeffK.

Mostly confused. And disappointed.

Okay, this wasn't what I expected of this game at all. Now I'm even more in than before.

I kind wish it didn't have all this meta stuff. Just put me in these combat puzzle scenarios and im good.

I had a weird bug on the first prison level that says "tutorial" at the beginning. No text came up on the screen so i just jumped around in the cell waiting for something to happen. Had to quit the game back to desktop but that kind of made it more awsome like a fourth wall braking bug. Even the real bugs fit the game somehow like how you can f*ck up the replay editor by pressing the numbpad keys.

@rvone: The meta stuff is maybe 3% of the game. There are almost no real "puzzles", you simply bang on the keyboard until it says "enter." The quick look makes it seem much more mysterious and confusing than it actually is.

£5. £7.95 at best.

I like the whole aesthetic of the game, including the meta stuff, but from a gameplay perspective the whole fact that i have to sit here and arbitrarily bang on the keyboard and navigate faux menus instead of just clicking 'next level' is unfortunate.

I played this game at pax 2014 on the Oculus Rift. It was very fun on VR. I don't think I can play this game on a non VR setting knowing how it feels with the Rift.

This game truly does not appeal at all...

But to each his own.

@rvone: I'm within the last 2-3 scenarios based on the numbers I've seen for game completion, and from what I've seen there are literally no "puzzles" in the game. The parts where you enter text are actually nothing other than story sequences where you have to press keys to make the story go forward. It's really a pure-gameplay experience. Whether you think that gameplay is enough to justify $20 when you'll only get about 2 hours of story/novel content is something I can't tell you, but in my case the gameplay is so enjoyable that the post-game challenges and endless mode made me feel very satisfied with my purchase.

I don't know whether you have to go through the story sequences again on the challenge playthroughs, but I certainly hope not. It's not bad as a one-off, and the sequences are fairly entertaining, but I definitely don't want to have to go through the meta-game to continue enjoying the gameplay either.

SUPERHOT is awesome. Katana only run is so awesome.

I only needed to play this for 10 minutes before I went out and just bought it. The aesthetic and gameplay touched my very being from the get go. It all works so well together. I would have liked more content for my $35 in retrospect but the game is still so fun for as long as it lasted anyway,

Just realized this came out of Poland. Good job, countrymen.

Right? It feels like the inspiration was the concept of the terminals as portals into the virtual world and the idea of uploading skills into your brain; the transitions from the SUPER HOT world to the UI feel a lot like some of the fades from the Matrix movies.

Can't possibly be Frog Fractions 2 - far too straight forward.

I will pay CASH MONEY for a program that turns my boring Windows CMD window into that phosphor glow text beauty.
