Don't mean to sound like a dick but I doubt he is the only person on Steam that want's all his games in one place. I know I don't buy EA games that are not on Steam because of that too. I do want it that bad, but I refuse to buy it on other platforms because I don't want to have to log into different places to play all my games. I couldn't care less what Jeff thinks.

Pretty much this. I don't hate EA. I'm not opposed to them trying to do their own thing. But I've sunk about 1000 dollars into my steam account with the assumption that it is *the place* where I buy and keep games. So far, its been tremendously convenient. Having to hold on to two different clients that have their own passwords and updates and game licenses and disk space just sounds terrible to me. Chances are, one day I'll break down and make an account, but right now, for me, Origin isn't worth Syndicate and it isn't worth Mass Effect 3 either.

Plus, I want to get this because I'm a huge sucker for Cyberpunk. Ghost in the Shell and Neuromancer and Deus Ex are all near and dear to me and this looks like it is in the same ballpark.

Appears to be a fine game but I don't see what's so 5 stars about it.

Don't forgot the greatest of all cyberpunk names: Hiro Protagonist.

Edit: I said this at the beginning and then Brad mentions Hiro Protagonist thirty minutes in. lol Points to Brad.

Hm. I'm a bit surprised that no one's mentioned that MW3 had the side-mounted red dot sight. I assume it wasn't used in multiplayer, and no one played or cares to remember the awful campaign, but in one stage you totally had a scoped rifle with an alternative red dot sight. A bit clunkier in that game since you basically had to switch weapons to access the other sight (just like you do underslung grenade launchers and the like), but it was there.

As for Syndicate? Getting it the moment I can afford it. Slightly proud to have worked with one of the programmers who later went on to get picked up for this game, and then slightly disappointed to realize I've done nothing all this time and he made it into Starbreeze... ah well.

@Cynical_Gamer: It is quite easy to understand why this is a 5 star game, people have different opinions.

"6-7 hours, the standard for shooters"

Ugh... I don't accept that new standard, especially not for 60 bucks.

This is what Perfect Dark would have been were it made today.

I think that's a pretty good comparison. PD did some pretty weird stuff with alt-fires on all of its weapons, and had all kinds of futuristic weapons that could lock on to targets or become autoturrets or identify explosives so you can avoid them.

Overall, this was a really entertaining Quick Look. The game looks slick as hell, and I think Jeff did a good job of showing it off, and he clearly knew what he was talking about front to back.

Indeed. I also think they could have called this game Shadowrun with no trouble.

Unless you're buying a multiplayer focused game (like Battlefield) no full price modern video game should be less than 10 hours in single player.

Although, i do like how Richard K Morgan-y this game is. Of course he did write the story. I just wish it was a little longer.

Looks like I'll be getting this next year, when it drops in price.

i would never let a mild inconvenience like that stop me playing great games. sure i love my steam collection but if i thought like you i would of missed some really great games like starcraft 2

Really pretty game. Kind of reminds me of what Haze hoped to do but failed. If the shooting in Deus Ex could look like this, that would be a world-class game. Might pick this up: I anticipate the price dropping off pretty significantly because EA didn't heavily market it, what with them focusing on ME3.

Just because you don't put the same value in having your collection of games in one place doesn't mean everyone else feels the same way. No one want's to not play these games, we just put greater value on having everything in one place over missing a couple games.

I can't speak for the others, but the biggest reason I don't buy games that do shit like this is because I refuse to support EA segmenting the PC market place just so they can make a few extra pennies. Blizzard has their own little portal where you gotta sign up to play their games, and now EA is trying to do the same. By buying games like this you are supporting the idea that companies should all have their own service and it's not far off when every semi-large publisher try s to make their own distribution platform and suddenly you will wake up to a world where being a PC gamer means needing to manage a dozen different accounts, installing and updating a dozen different digital platforms, a dozen different achievement systems, a dozen different friends lists, and a host of other problems. That's the last dam thing PC gaming needs.

God I hate what EA has done to PC gaming with their stupid Origin. I would buy Syndicate and Mass Effect 3 if they were on Steam. I will not support Origin ever. It really sucks cause I don't believe in pirating games, so looks like no EA PC games for me ever again. Thankfully I have a PS3 of which to play Syndicate on. Sucks that the PS3 has awful graphics compared to my high end gaming PC. That's how much I hate Origin, I'd rather play Origin games on a console than my kick ass PC. Fuck EA

Nearly wasted IP, but I like the UI. It's refreshing to see some developers have the creativity and talent to back up that decision to change to that sorta thing.

I would be more interested if the game had more interesting weapons and didn't auto-aim halfway across the screen.

Jeff drops some heavy William Gibson references in the beginning that even I barely remembered - he has some crazy memory for these tidbits of info.

This comment did not stand the test of time. I just picked this up on Origin for $4.99, 75% off.
