Those fingers blowing off when he shot the gas tank... man...

I'm curious how this is on PC. Liked what I played on PS3 (the demo), but I want it on PC if I buy it.

I will definitely be getting this game in the next few days. I just hope there is enough of a community for co-op in the PC version.

Been loving the co-op in this, put 6 straight hours into it and would play more if I didn't have to work in the morning.

This is definitely a cool looking game, but I refuse to buy it on principle, which rarely happens. I have zero affinity or nostalgia for the old Syndicate games, but I simply cannot aid the perpetuation of this bullshit idea that everything needs to be a shooter.

Surprise 5-star. I know Starbreeze does good stuff, but everything leading up to the release of Syndicate makes me think it's a generic-ass video game. Now we shall see.

I don't know, the whole "hacking" thing just looks like not-so-quick time events.Like when you're hanging off that ship and have to hack those doors to get inside that building. Can you do something else instead? If not, why do you need to press a button to make it happen? Just seems kinda superfluous. Like mashing the X button to open a door.

@gladspooky: It's actually pretty great. For example, you run up to a downed teammate, start the hack, and then run back to cover while providing covering fire.

It does, there are scopes with picatinny rails mounted on the side or top so you can put a small red dot/reflex sight on them (some are also just built in). That is pretty awesome though, first time I've seen that in a video game and it looks really fun to use.

I think that's a pretty good comparison. PD did some pretty weird stuff with alt-fires on all of its weapons, and had all kinds of futuristic weapons that could lock on to targets or become autoturrets or identify explosives so you can avoid them.

Overall, this was a really entertaining Quick Look. The game looks slick as hell, and I think Jeff did a good job of showing it off, and he clearly knew what he was talking about front to back.

The co-op stuff seems really awesome, and the single-player seems fun, albeit a bit short. Looks like you did a bang-up job, Starbreeze! Thanks for the review and QL, Jeff. I'll definitely be picking this game up (which is surprising, since it wasn't even on my radar before today).

And I'm with Brad, definitely a missed opportunity with a brain-traversing minigame. The first thing my mind went to was the endoscopy missions in Trauma Team, oddly enough...

So, a big part of this game is the co-op. But I'd be getting it on PC, which would require getting Origin (*shudder*). I don't know anyone on Origin, so I'd be stuck playing with randoms.

I suppose I could live with that, if the multiplayer on Origin is solid. Anyone have any experience with it?

I could just get the game on 360, but that would defeat the purpose of the new pc I just built.

Not a fan of perks that completely obscure the great graphics of a game.

Why build an awesome world then encourage the player to make everything orange and grainy to proceed.

Having played the first 2 and a half hours, I can tell you that you can't abuse that nanovision and more often than not you will be seeing everything in the color palette that you are supposed to. But it is essential to combat, especially when you get weapons that penetrate cover.

Nice Ghost in the Shell reference (assault rifle company is called Kusanagi), wonder if there are any more references to cyberpunk works hidden throughout.

Seems like a great game, but for $60 its a little light on content for me. Also, the origin requirment on PC is really unfortunate. Maybe I will pick it up when it goes on sale. Its too bad games on origin are always significantly more expensive then they are on steam.

Too bad about the short campaign..that's the only reason i'd get this. I know Jeff loved it but I wouldn't mind more devs stop trying to be all things to all people, particularly in the FPS realm. In Syndicate there seems to be two modes that are light on content, instead of one complete kickass mode. From all I've read the co-op is more complete of the two, so why not just make a full-on co-op title out of this? Just don't bullshit me w/ these short shrift SP campaigns.

Eh, playing co-op doesn't really excite me. Looks like I'll be passing this one up, then. Oh well.

"Why did they waste the opportunity to have a skull navigating minigame?"

They people who made this game, as a group, said "Son of a-" as they realized they have made a terrible mistake.
