Virtua Tennis was incredible. It's really a shame that the new ones aren't really any good.

For me the DC was all about Shenmue and Skies of Arcadia. I remember December 2000, Shenmue had recently been released in Europe, I sat in a small cottage on a small 14" TV somewhere on the Swedish countryside. The snow was falling slowly outside as it was in the game and I felt that at that point games had become virtual reality. The world in Shenmue just felt so real and you could do so much more than in any other game. There is a lot of talk about when games would look so good that you could stop making new hardware and just focus on making games because they looked so realistic that you don't need to focus anymore on grahpics. To me the Dreamcast was that console. Of course today I realize I was wrong, but at the time it didn't feel like games needed to look any better than that. Sure the PS2 was out, but it had yet to produce anything exiting. For people who don't remember the early PS2 it was a huge disappointment. It wasn't really until MGS2 and FFX the PS2 took off and all the great games we today think of when we think of the PS2 had yet to come out.

Oh please...!
Soul Caliber and RE: Code Veronica cannot be forgotten in this list.
And Dino Crisis... yes, i know, the game was god-awful, but i played a whole lot of it.
Oh, and Puyo Puyo 4 was pretty neat too...
Come to think of it, every game that came out on the system had a certain magic to it, no matter how mediocre or downright bad they were.

People, question:

What was that game called, that you could play with up to four players, and you could choose from a variety of characters, including an American Native and a Mummy/zombie/voldo(?) hybrid dude in this 2d/3d environment and the main goal pretty much was to wreck up the place.
Does this poor description ring any bells?

Thank you for your respons but no, it's not rampage.
I figured it out just a half hour ago; the title is called Power stone (2).
Again, thanks for the effort to help me out.

I became a fan of tennis (and Tommy Haas) through Virtua Tennis. Never paid attention to the sport before then, but now I just find it awesome to watch.

This made for a great party game, too. Especially when you unlocked some of the crazier items like woks.

I was part of the failure of the Dreamcast because I waited the next year for the PS2.. and I actually kind of feel bad about it looking back. Wish I picked one up on the day it came out, but my parents could only get me one system and I was loyal to the playstation at the time so I went with that. These games still look great though and still hold up.
