this makes me want to go buy the first 3 games and this one. well i just bought the first 3 i loved 1 and 2 but never played 3 i don't regret my decision.

I feel like the only way this game could have been incredible would have been if this game came out on disk instead of download only. The limitation in filesize that downloadable games are constrained to makes it practically impossible to have recreated all of the memorable tracks from the THPS series into this game. At the same time I doubt this game will sell enough copies to have made a disk release wise for Activision.

This looks fine, but without any Tony Hawk 3 material I'm left a bit cold.

Still, Superman on the opening menu was pretty cool.

When this was first announced I was hyped, but as time went on I cared less and less. Maybe just time to hook up the old PS1?

After playing SKATE for so long, it's amazing how right they got it.

If they made an HD collection of Pro Skater 3 and 4, I would buy it a million times.

It had medals AND goals. Medal levels had both.

This game is too limited for what they are charging. Also the demo doesn't even let you play the full 2 mins, fuck that.

This game looks ugly. Like, the lighting is just all washed out and wrong. Everything either looks sterile or cel-shaded. It's horrendous.

I played a ton of Tony Hawk 2 a couple weeks ago and am intricately familiar with how that bad boy feels, and from what I played of the HD demo, they got pretty close but something about it is off. The framerate also seems shitty. And the bails look terrible. And the level choices are mediocre. (The first levels from both games even though they're both pretty interchangeable? Both goddamn downhill jam levels over any other level from 1? No medal levels, not even in the damn medal level from 2? What the fuck.) And the soundtrack isn't great. Basically it doesn't seem like a very good game but I'm probably still going to buy it. God dammit.

Also, why did they turn reverts off but kept Tony Hawk 3's lip balance mechanic? That's anachronistic as shit.

I demand that Wakeboarding HD remake! And I also demand an Aggressive Inline HD remake!

I dunno about this game though... I was pretty psyched for it when it was announced but after this quick look.. ehhhh... hopefully they'll just bundle everything in the future as one big ass package. Those levels be lacking!

They were probably my most played games of the gamecube and ps2 for me

For $15 I think I'd rather just pop the original THPS and THPS2 into my PS3 and get the original soundtrack and better roster, not to mention a wider level variety. If the only thing this really has going for it is updated graphics and online play with a very limited level selection, I don't think this is worth a purchase.

There's a lot of talk about the soundtrack and the songs that are missing, but the best song in a skating game was actually Galaxie Express 69 Mix by Cornelius from Grind Session.

There was a remake of it in THUG 2 that added a second area. I think there may have been catwalks in that area.

Mall, Downhill Jam, Hangar... no thanks. I'd much rather have NYC, Philly or Skatestreet Ventura. Also, if Skate Heaven doesn't unlock when you 100% the career with all skaters, they've fucked up.

Come on, no create-a-skater or user created levels? Gimped soundtrack? "Lyn-Z Pastrana"? Weak-ass benihanas? I was kinda pumped for this, but now I think I'd be better off just playing THPS2 again.

Having spent an ungodly amount of time with the first three THPS games, this still feels like those games and I'm really enjoying it. I realize it's trying to be many things to many people and probably won't please everyone.

Yes, they're fantastic ports. They run in VGA mode and have a nicer draw distance and lighting than the PSX versions.

I prefer the old-school Tony Hawk with just the manuals to combo between grinds and jumps. THPS2 was epic on Dreamcast, I think I might just have to pick this up to re-live those good times.

@shodan2020: This is the truth. THPS3 is the best in the series.

I've learned to realize that you can't bring back Bob Burnquist and his Hey Skipper hat since he's retired ages ago...fine. But no Bucky Lasek? I'm positive I saw that guy on my television skateboarding last year. C'mon, guys behind this video game! Make me nostalgia more! Game-wise, I can't tell if this is just fine or kinda half-assed. I just don't understand why you couldn't include the THPS 3 stuff within the game, even if it meant some more time. Maybe it's a budget-thing, but is it really that too out-of-the-question?

That soundtrack. The memories. So glad they managed to sort out the licensing for that. No Cigar for days.

this isn't for me, but i'm sure it's cool for those who had nostaliga for 1 and 2. THUG was my tony hawk game and i can't play this game properly without reverts

The game doesn't look half bad but it's unfortunate that the devs decided to ignore split-screen. I'll definitely download it once it goes on sale down the line.

Man, I had forgotten about Millencolin. Pennybridge Pioneers was such a great album. Might have to dig it out of my collection and blast some "No Cigar" tonight.

FYI, Marseilles was a medal level. It was also the demo level for THPS2, but only in single session mode. I spent hours on the demo, and days on the full game.

The lack of almost all of the original skaters sucks.

Dear Microsoft,
      The portion of my brain that allows me to indulge in impulse buys for digital download game releases I know I could live without but "kinda" want is defused when it sees 15 dollars. 

I still listen to my burnt CD of TH 1-3 soundtracks on occasion. For $15 this is still a maybe for me. I was really hoping for more, but you get what you pay for I guess. I think I'll just pick up the originals though instead for about the same price, but not in HD.

@TekZero: So, I picked up Skate 2 on a whim after watching this quick look and I just cannot get that system to work for me. I feel like I'm fighting it constantly to get my character to do what I want. What do you like about it?

That's the feeling I was getting out of this. Looks like it was made with DLC is mind, which is a shame.

I think I'll wait for the PSN release. I can't play these games without a decent d-pad. I also really hope the THPS3 levels come out soon.
