I got less interested the longer I watched, I never owned a Twisted Metal though.

I love how brutal Ryan is to the interns only to have another staff member come to their rescue. Admittedly some of those questions he was choosing were dumb so he kind of deserves the ribbing.

I was never into Twisted Metal or car combat games. I guess it's cool for those who are though. I

I would be more interested in a fairly realistic Destruction Derby game. I wanted Destruction Derby 2 on PS1, but changed my mind on my way to the store clerk and ended up with Tomb Raider 2 instead.

I've never been a fan of this game at all, and I can say that I still don't like it.

I will also say that this TNT houses one of the stupidest questions from the chat I've ever seen in a TNT. "If you could ask Calypso for one wish, what would it be?" (Right behind "If I didn't like Gears of War 1 or 2, is there anything in 3 that would appeal to me?") Jesus Christ, grow up. And I'm disappointed in Perry for even picking the question. I'm happy Ryan has the guff to shoot down such stupidity.

That's too harsh. It was supposed to be dumb, and a chance for Ryan or Patrick to say something funny in response. Personally, I get tired of all of the dry informational questions on most TNT's.

It also makes me really uncomfortable when Ryan is kind of a genuine dick to the interns like that. I remember a Happy Hour show they did on a webcam like a year and a half ago, where Ryan told a story about how Steve (Lemon) was really intimidated by him, and it made him realize that he was being a jerk.

I get that the interns come and go, and aren't really part of the "inner circle" there, but they are also a lot younger than Ryan, and probably want to work there in the first place because they look up to Ryan and Jeff. That's why it bothers me when Ryan says that kind of stuff to them, after Perry decides to go out on a limb and tries to ask something funny.

But it's not like I work there. Maybe I've got the dynamic all wrong. I can only describe how it appears to me.

The only time Perry's questions annoy me, are when he asks questions that the guys just answered, because he isn't paying attention. Oh well - I still love all of the GB guys. This is just one aspect of Ryan specifically, that very occasionally rears it's head.

About the game itself - it looks shitty. The environments look drab, the menus (and menu music) look like they came straight out of the 90s, and car combat still looks like it totally isn't fun any more. Some of the soundtrack choices seemed relatively inspired, then then they layered a bunch of other boring-ass modern metal with it.

This game leaves no doubt in my mind that car combat as a genre is just dead, until 20 years from now some crazy new VR technology comes along that makes you really feel like you're in the car. Otherwise it basically seems like a sluggish, imprecise third person shooter with cars instead of people.

If all you want is abject craziness, there are better games to play that offer that.

Who put Gary Whitta in my Giant Bomb? Because that move seems to make a lot of GB's content better. He's kind not informed but insightful at same time, and kind of plays the role of the audience (at least me) by asking good questions.

Also he occasionally looks like Woody Allen... a little bit.

@Scotto: It'a a game that hard to understand fully without playing it. Having played all of them it feels like a trip down memory lane. I will say that I don't think the genre could be seen to often as carcombat is kinda a hard sell now. Though for what it does it does it extremely well.

I am very happy with my purchase of this game.

It's too bad Ryan picked Nuke settings that made it basically impossible to ever actually destroy the statue in one inning. It takes a damn long time to capture the leader, and then there's a fair amount of time the nuke is in transit. Also, Ryan's understanding of the turbo bar seemed slim to nonexistent.

Pretty good TNT all around, and enjoyable to watch overall. Twisted Metal was definitely a good choice.
