My internet cut out for the last five minutes of the stream. I now see those last five minutes were THE most important minutes.

OK, didn't see this live, and just started watching... I think they (and by that I mean Vinny) should maybe mess around with the lighting of that room. I first noticed it in the Jeff talking about his firing video. Anyone filmed in that greenscreen room looks sort of... weird.

Maybe I'm just seeing things, but that room is too green or something?

The 40 story brings back a memory from my youth: The Yeast 40!

Friends and I got some drinks to celebrate New Years around either 94 or 95, and one friend cracked a 40 but only drank about half. We put it in the fridge of the friend's house where we were celebrating and there it remained. For years. Eventually it had seemingly separated into its individual components and we dubbed it the "Yeast 40." Come the evening leading to Y2K, it was still in there and the friend who had started drinking it half a decade before proudly proclaimed he would drink it at midnight (what with society about to collapse with the Y2K virus). The clock struck 12, he gave it a good shake and then knocked it back. He went blind for a couple of minutes before puking it up and dumping the rest out.

Good times...

I mean don't get me wrong, Mario Party games aren't exactly the holy grail of gaming, but jesus christ guys, lighten up a bit and have some damn fun.

I hope this doesn't preclude Mario Party 2 or 3 from ever being played in a TNT, or even in an off-special event.

My gawd does Mario Party 9 rip out any semblance of competition and edge to the series. All taking turns in the same vehicle? What's the point of the board itself at that point? I know the series is overdue for drastic changes.. but not ones that cut the series off at the shins.

TNT was still great, but Nintendo managed to make MP9 less interesting than Fortune Street. Mario Party was supposed to be a shoe-in to double the amazement of that one TNT, but it failed miserably. That's.. impressive for all the wrong reasons.

Still though, props to Vinny for green screen craziness. Giantbomb awesomeness is still in full swing.

Kinda have to agree here. Wishing out loud that you want it to be over is a good way to make viewers feel the same way. I think a better attitude could have helped this.

MP9 looks like a bad game. They should go back and play Mario Party 3! That game was much better than this!

I agree. The main attraction for Mario Party games to me is to have fun with friends. Which is what I was expecting out of these guys. Just have them let loose and play a silly Nintendo game.

Maybe instead of betting who would drink the 40 afterward, they all should have had some beforehand. Might have been better.

Man, weird how they managed to have higher production values before their budget asploded. I hope they can find a non-green screen set for doing shows that don't need greenscreen, because when greenscreen isn't perfect it looks like fucking shit. The lighting is pretty crummy too because it's just there to make the greenscreen work, which is barely does at that.

Hopefully they stabilize and get things like the audio quality on the podcast and the quality of their live set up. I think virtual sets are silly for the MAIN SET. Greenscreen can go wrong so much faster and is so much harder to get right than an attractive physical set. It'll never be the old set, which was fantastic looking but maybe they can go somewhere with good lighting and not constant awful greenscreen crap. As much as I love giving Vinny greenscreen to play with, I don't want that constantly. I prefer him to be restricted, because then he just makes things be on fire, or explode.

Also, as someone who played MarioParty for the first time ever recently via N64 netplay emulation, 9 looks boring as fuck. Instead of just total bullshit, which was at least hilarious.

Yea this sucked next time play fortune street that was amazing to watch.

Such a disappointing TNT. Why do you guys bother doing TNT's of games you all seem to despise with every fibre of your being? If you all hated it so much why even pick that game? No one wants to listen to you guys bitch and moan about how you wish you were doing something else for 90+ min.

Hope you guys can get a real set again and get back to doing quality videos, because so far everything made at the new place has been crap. I'm sure it's just because everyone is tired and you are still trying to get things worked out, but at a certain point that excuse starts to wear thin. If this is the new "improved" GB, I want the old broken one back.

In the Goomba bowling, it was kind of crazy how backwards they all had it. For example, when all the Goombas were in a straight line, the guys were all throwing perfectly straight, when instead you should be angling your shot against the wall so that your ball always follows where the line is. If you aim perfectly straight, the only way the shell could possibly hit all of the Goombas before they move out of the way is if it were going several hundred miles per hour.

This was unfortunate, but only because Mario Party 9 is terrible...It's not even Mario Party! Everyone should have individual spaces and multiple paths going round the board trying to get stars and screwing each other over!

Instead it is the most pathetic shell of what was an actually fun...I was looking forward to it not realizing how gimped it actually is. Jeff's dire cynicism didn't help I guess.
