It's been a fucking GREAT year.

Just not for the types of games Jeff likes/plays.

Really great video, first thing I go to with my new subscription and I feel it's already worth it.

I think he's totally spot on with DLC as well. It's something that has to exist and is only as evil as how it's used. Myself, I just.. never felt a need to ever invest in DLC. I love my story based games, and buying extra pages never sat well with me. It will never truly feel like part of the experience. I've only bought one DLC ever (besides actual downloadable games), the Shadowbroker for ME2, and it was good.. but.. I payed 10$ for an elaborate sidequest, something they didn't even need to create an engine for. I could buy entire games for that price. I feel ripped off. I just don't see the point.

And I'm really not sure what to think about this year either. It's a good year, but at the same time.. nothing exciting at all. Every sequel is exactly what you would expect. The only new ideas came from the indie market really and that seems like the trend now. Videogaming has turned into the movie industry already in many ways.

Defo agree with what Jeff said about games this year. While I think the games have been good and to a high quality, they're also suffering from being too iterative. Even though Uncharted 3 and Batman: AC both scored 5 stars here, they don't do a whole lot different gameplay wise from their predecessors and I think with this year being a year full of sequels (mostly those ending in 3) have made people feel a bit fatigued on them. Yes, those ideas you made were fantastic a year or 2 ago but now give me a new experience or one that excited me as much as those.

Prey 2 next year looks fucking amazing and I'm hoping it lives up to what they've shown off and that looks like a sequel to be excited for, none of this take what we made last year and add one new thing BS that we've been seeing so much of this year.

Wasn't there supposed to be a new jar time today?
