I understand it's never really been Bungie's jam, but I hope this comes to PC at some point down the road. There's some possibility Plus won't be required for the PS3 version of the game, I guess, but I'd also rather not get a kneecapped experience of what it seems will be a "big thing" in video games.

I'm amazed by how much Brad is getting wrong this E3. The Order footage was definitely not The Order footage, the voice actor for guilty spark or whatever it's called and so much other stuff during the streams.

Man actually seeing what this game is like is making me want it even more. I really wish it was coming to PC (I don't have the money for a new console right now).

I think if I buy one left/right pew pew game this year, it might well be this. Really like the look, just hope it offers some freedom and openness.

I'm surprised so few people have made this comparison, but I've been making it since they first announced the game: It very much reminds me of the first Guild Wars in structure. Diablo and Borderlands kind of seem like the obvious comparisons.

Looks okay, not amazing or anything. Defiance had delightful amounts of jank and doesn't look like this does so it'll probably get boring at some point.

That voice is pretty clearly Peter Dinklage. Kind of weird how Brad immediately dismisses it.

What is going on with that interface? Was a simple traditional selection interface too much to ask for?

So it's basically Borderlands without all the dumb humor?

I wanted to be hyped for this, but now it really does look like a game by the Halo guys, ugh. Also, R.I.P. Peter Dinklage and his VO career.

Alright, I'm now sufficiently hyped for Destiny. I was feeling increasingly indifferent about it, but this video is the first thing I've seen that has really shown off the broader scope of what Destiny is doing.

So pretty great! I honestly could never get into the 'lolmeme' humor of borderlands, this looks great.

Also jeff was picking up tons of random loot, but it was being displayed in the same area as the ammo/currency pickups.

I gotta say, I had no interest in Destiny before this Quick Look, but now I'm kinda curious. Really like the spacey pseudo-mystical atmosphere.

Heart broken as to what platform to pick it on. I have a PS4 but still itch for an XONE, and think some friends would want an XONE as well. HMMM. Decisions.

The UI looks beautiful and clean but seems a little clunky with the left stick cursor.

To me, this game looks a lot like a slower, first person Defiance. The gunplay seems a lot like it, and the charging special power and grenade, and anytime co-op if you feel like it are all pretty similar. Heck, even the rate that ammo can be used up looks similar.

Nothing about this game's really grabbing me. But then I've never liked Halo, so I'm not surprised that another Bungie game isn't doing it for me. Oh well.

Only watched 45 mins but a bit more keen on this. Graphics are pretty nice. Enjoyed the interior environments. That first quest had good atmosphere to it, which I think is the most important thing this game needs to work on to set itself apart.

All in all this has made me more optimistic about this game as my expectations were REALLY low. It doesnt seem to feel overly generic which is good. Still, hope the AI is a bit better. I expect a bit more from Bungie on that front. Why does gaming AI seem like it peaked at Halo 1? I swear its even gone backwards some. How is it in 2014 AI is still generally dumb as fuck?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one thinking this looked just like Defiance. But Diablo II/Path of Exile style instancing outside of towns and hubs.

Looks nice, but if I remember correctly it won't be on the PC. So sadly I won't be playing it. I can't stand FPS's using a controller.

See, this is brilliant material right here. If only you could taste how terrible these pretzels are in spite of sounding delicious on paper, the irony would surely win you over.

@magicwalnuts: Whew, I was half-expecting to get shouted down for mentioning any similarities to Defiance. But damn, it looks really similar. Even some of the various faction baddies and their behaviors are similar.

@itwongo: Same feeling here. Was ambivalent about consoles until I saw this and The Order. Love the atmosphere of this game.

Looks fantastic. Even more psyched to play this now, and I didn't think that was possible. Signed up for Alpha this week and already in for beta, so we'll see. Can't wait to play this w/friends, and really dig into the entire game universe in Sept.

Jeff picking a fucking Warlock instead of the boring, standard Assault is the biggest megaton of this E3. Finally.

You didn't really catch Jeff's "I basically haven't played more than a few minutes" drift at the start of the video, did you? Plus, the new-age adage of 'constructive commentary; communicate mechanics' for over an hour to two spectators drinking Destiny in for the first time, without prior instruction (bare-bones Alpha), whilst prepping for a live show and E3. They didn't notice a couple of things--it's not worth getting hung up over.

I don't know, I'm in the boat of comparing it to RAGE and lacking character. It all just felt bland. It's not a single player story driven game, but it's also not an open world MMO either; you're at the hub and the only reason to ever visit a zone is to complete a specific mission. For an MMO there needs to be things WITHIN the world to distract you from just chugging along, making the journey throughout the game fun and expansive, rather than just go go go all the time. The fact that there are invisible walls also backs up the feeling of restriction going against exploration (in a game about finding loot and treasure chests, nontheless).

The mechanics, gameplay, and graphics look superb though. Top Notch! The AI seems to put up a good challenge and the game looks to just "feel" good.

I just don't know if I'm going to be able to get behind something that seems to essentially be RAGE 2.0 but of course this is all just from a quick look. I wanna get my hands on the full game when it's out and put some time into it to see what it's all really about! I'm keeping my hopes up!!!

Borderlands without the parts of Borderlands that are sort of insufferable? SOLD.

This looks great but I just can't play a FPS with a controller. Really don't understand how anyone else does either to be honest, at least thoughs who have played FPS on a PC also. Not a PC Master race thing or anything, some games are meant for a a controller and some games are meant for a keyboard and mouse and FPS are meant for a Keyboard and Mouse.

As a guy who was actually really down on this game and could not get excited for it, I've turned around. It looks cool. I'd play this for hours.

I'd prefer to play FPS games with a mouse for sure but I don't have a gaming rig and don't want to invest. I'll never be as good with sticks as I am with a mouse but great games are great games regardless. I still love playing Battlefield 4 with the PS4 controller even if I know I'd be more accurate on PC. Plus, the vast majority of other game genres work better on a controller than mouse.

Peter Dinklage saying, "It can't be! It's the hive!" at like 9:40 is the most hilariously phoned-in performance I've heard in a long time.

EDIT: I take it back. His entire performance is phoned-in. Good lord.

yeah I pretty much agree with you at least with defiance you can use any weapon and looks to be still more fun than this.

Haha, I basically did a double-take. I think Drew chiming in was critical. He basically said politely what some commenters say rudely, a fact which must have been immediately apparent to Jeff. With a thumb poised to confirm playing as Master Chief, a friendly and earnest observation echoed criticism previously encountered. "I mean, I DO always play the 'Assault' class... I guess I still can in the full game even if I don't now..."

I wasn't particularly excited about this, but this video has sold me a ticket to the hype train. I might have to pick this up once I get a PS4.

I'm of the belief that a lone Tenno could take down a squad of Guardians.

Went from being cool on his to now excited. All those articles and controlled demos didn't do this game any justice. (Publishers, take note). Will be playing this on PS4. Really would love to play this on PC but it won't be out for a good while it looks like.

The sound of that speed bike is great. I don't know why that's a big deal for me but it is.

Can you use the touchpad to move the cursor around or just the analog stick?
