When I first heard about this game I wasn't particularly excited. But somehow after seeing just one or two videos I've become ridiculously obsessed. The sort of obsessed where all my current games loose their fun because I just want to play this.

I'll catch this later, it's going alongside the Treehouse Stream, and they are guaranteed to not be as cynical and know what they are talking about.

It isn't released yet anywhere, and not in the US until October (3rd?). So this is considered either a demo or early version that could be updated or patched before final release.

I have absolutely no interest in playing any of the two new Smash games because I never liked playing them, but I do like me some competitive Smash for some reason. So, there you go I guess.

I'm watching the Treehouse stream right now, and it's far more informative than I could ever hope to expect from GB on this.

Capt. Falcon has been in every game and I believe Ganondorf is a unlockable in this.

So tired of hearing the crew hate everything because its Nintendo.

@bkbroiler: watching some of it now and dan says he only plays it like a party game, which is sad cuz jeff and brad might have liked the no-items, flat stages final destination modes.

But then again, if you're watching this for information about the new smash bros, you're watching the wrong video.

It kind of blows my mind to hear how cynical Jeff and apathetic Brad are towards Smash.

Captain Falcon has been in all the Smash games.

I'm with Jeff and Brad on this one. Maybe it is an age thing or being in the UK Nintendo just wasn't as big. Looks fun if that's your thing but too busy for my taste.

As someone who is into competitive Melee and is "out of my damn mind" (according to Jeff), this new Smash just isn't grabbing my attention for some reason. Maybe it's because I hated Brawl, but watching this just makes me want to go play Melee.

I've just come to realization that I don't really like the Smash Brothers series; I just really like Super Smash Bros. Melee.

It's painful to hear Smash Bros. dismissed as a frivolous fighting game. There so much depth to it.

Not tripping over themselves to hype whatever fans demand they be hyped about is the exact reason that Giant Bomb is basically the only gaming site I visit.

There is no reason for people to be getting butt hurt in the comments about Jeff and Brad "dismissing" the game. If you like Smash Brothers you'll probably like this game too, great. Them saying that it is not for them will not cheapen the game or lessen your enjoyment of it.

Man, Dan is so happy and optimistic for video games.

What I like about Smash is that it is both a party game and a game with deep mechanics that can be kinda serious. Back when I was living in a dorm me and my friends liked to mess around with 4-player items matches and hold 1v1 tournaments on Final Destination. Not liking the way it plays is fine, whatever, but not seeing how people can take it seriously because the mechanics aren't like a traditional fighting game is a little dismissive.

That second mode they played seemed real dumb. 5 minutes of shitty platforming is not what I come to Smash Bros. for.

That MegaMan 2 level was pretty rad... MegaMan is pretty rad.
