@vinny GT5 would be the way to go for a 24 hour endurance race currently, though you would need someone's save profile is a high enough level to participate (35 for Le Mans, 40 for Nurb, this takes hundreds of hours to get to). Downloading game saves used to be really easy for PS3 games, but I know they started making that stuff a little weird once trophies came into play, so you'd probably need someone's actual profile and save (which you could probably get easily through this community if you wanted it). If you didn't care about graphics, you could really easily get a GT4 save and do the 24 Le Mans in there, though I don't know how you'd deal with wheel support then.

As for other races, it takes about 2 hours to get from corner to corner in Fuel, and it should be about 2 in Euro Truck Sim 2 as well (but then you'd get to ride the ferry!). Doing a full Daytona 500 should take something like 4 hours? Haven't done that one myself. You could also make a super long Forza 4 race, but I think it caps out at 50 or 99 laps, and a Le Mans 24 is usually ~350.

GT5 would also be nice because you guys have the g27 in the office which works great with that game, so it would be relatively easy to set up. I really enjoyed watching Drew's race today, and a race day or an endurance race would pretty much be content tailored to my exact interests.

I've been in an air traffic controller tower. One of the dudes there described it to me as "being like a video game, except people could actually die."

I still am slightly terrified by that response.
