It was really cool to see the original BBC Micro version of Elite, but the most playable version of the first game is Elite Plus for DOS, released in 1991. It has an easier to use UI, and solid polygons, making it a little easier to see what everything is..

I also which Drew had checked out the sequel, Elite II: Frontier from 1993. It's one of my all time favorite games.

The Rogue Squadron games are great, don't listen to Jeff. RS II in particular was amazing, both in terms of game play, and the graphics. It was a launch GameCube game with bump-mapping! I kid you not, it looked better than most Wii games.

Pogs! Or as we called them in the Netherlands, Flippo's!

I didn't think I ever played the game, but after seeing this I think I'm remembering playing with my brother in our room. I remember those finger grooves on the slammers, too. And I think I had that buzz saw one. Such a dumb thing.

What's up with the Play buttons on their version of Steam? Custom skin? Seems like a weird thing to change.

I finally understand my problem with Dan. He laughs at absolutely everything. It's kinda like watching a sitcom with a laugh track and I hate that. Also, everything is either the best or the worst for him. I honestly think that if he had to review games on GB, he would only give 5 star and 1 star reviews. Also, the chemistry between him and Brad and Drew is nearly nonexistent.

I offer up any Drew/Dan QL so far as evidence to the contrary.

It's the new design for the play button on Steam. Also there is a blue gradient on the top of the Steam window.

Yah Valve really went all out to revamp their aging Steam interface by changing the icon, a few buttons and adding a gradient.

The looks of pain, horror, and then numbing loss on Dan's face was amazing. Do it again. Or, well, don't. That'd be mean. And I'll second that Jeff is great this week. Vacations are a good idea!

(For the opening three seconds I 100% thought that Woody Harrelson was on the show. It was a confusing time for me.)

The whole Pogs segment was great. Dan got hustled!

As far as I can tell, Tazos were basically the Pogs knockoff we got here in Australia. I remember owning a bunch of Yu-Gi-Oh! and Beyblade Tazos as a kid, mostly from chip packets. I don't remember any kids actually playing games with them though.

We had Tazos in the UK as well.

@rpwll: I think they were metal near the end. I even think I got a Yu Gi Oh one just a few years ago in a bag of Twisties. I'm not sure I ever knew what to do with them as a kid, but I had a big binder full on them.

Also my co-worker went on a date with Charles Dance a few weeks ago when he was in South Australia. Seemed like a nice dude, ridiculously smooth talker and into the younger ladies (she is in her late 30's.)

I used to have a large lunch box full of pogs and had a complete biker mice from mars set but I don't think I ever actually played pogs. It looks dumb.

Dan is great entertainment on the bombcast, but I cringe everytime he is on UPF. I'm trying not being a troll, but he kinda gets on my nerves. Sorry Dan, not your fault, just a personality clash.
