Who's The Big Boss?: 3! - Episode 07

It's been driving me CRAZY who the General looks like, and I finally realized: Rugal from King of Fighters. The boss character no one cares about because of Geese.

I unapologetically love Disturbed's version of Austin's theme.

So apparently Tomokazu Fukushima, the principal writer behind MGS1,2 and 3, is nobody to Dan? I don't think Dan really is an MGS fan, he must be just Kojima fan.

Well, he apparently hates playing them.

@humanity: I guess that that's fair. I suppose that I should count myself lucky for not outright hating anything that they talk about, but am instead totally indifferent. My interests are very narrow and when they go into a deep dive about movie directors or musicians or whatever I might be completely lost and not privy to the references made, but I am also not unentertained or angry. It's just fun to listen to them talk about stuff that they like.

As far as wrestling specifically, I happen to be a life-long fan, which is convenient when it comes to consuming Giant Bomb content.

If I ever stop paying for my site subscription, the fucking endless wrestling talk over everything will be the reason.

Yeah, this is exactly what happened with Kingdom Heartache, which was mercifully cut short. I can't remember if GB East has ever ended a series early due to being completely not interested in the game as they get farther into it, but I can think of a couple times when maybe they should have (this game included).

I usually love all the GBEast series, but I've gotta chime in and say the ending of this was horribly disappointing and had to stop watching after 45 minutes. If you're talking over the ending in a Metal Gear game with all the big story reveals and not even trying to pay attention, what are you even doing?

I'll look forward to whatever you guys have planned next, though, because I think this is one of the extremely rare times you missed the mark

Absolutely awful episode.

I'm all for going off on tangents about totally random crap but for fuck sake! The whole thing culminating in talk about wrestling, WHICH HAS IT'S OWN FUCKING SHOW, and quickly buttoning through the entire end of the game makes this whole series feel like a waste of time. This is why I never finished watching the Exquisite Corps. Because Dan has the attention span of a 5 year old. It's like fast forwarding through the end of a movie. A real shitty movie, sure, but, when I've already invested this much time into it. I'd like to see it through. When @vinny gets back I think he should force them to go back and finish the game again as punishment. Without save states. Then make him play NES Snake's Revenge...nah, that might be too cruel.

I know it's not always easy to stay completely invested in long running series like this but please try to keep in mind that you are taking peoples money for this content. And while some portion of your audience does enjoy wrestling, you are potentially alienating the portion that does not. Nothing personal, that's just business.

I'm so glad you guys decided to use save states for that last boss fight; that could have ended up being much longer than it needed to be.

Finally this shitshow can be laid to rest. RIP Metal Gear.

This might actually be the worst video on the site.

I think I finally realize why I hate this episode so much.

It's the exact same problem with Game of Thrones Season 8, and The Last Jedi. The episode is mocking the viewers for ever caring about the show in the first place. It's looking at you, the viewer, with serious intent, and asking you plainly:

"What? Did you think this was important? Did you think you should care? You know only idiots find this entertaining, and only morons would keep watching this long."
