the true horror lives in this town

Introduction: This is the first Silent Hill game to ever be released. For the first time you will travel to the city of Silent Hill, lets just hope you can get out of there...

    Gameplay (7/10)
The gameplay is hard to get used to, it's similar to the first Resident Evil games and Alone in the Dark, but after you learn how to control the character things will be easier. There's a lot of items that will probably be used later in the game in some puzzle, so you have to explore the entire city.

    Story (9/10)
The story of the town is incredible, all the monsters have meaning and the story of Alessa is deep and enjoyable. The characters are beliaveble and you can get attached to some of them, there's a scene involving the nurse Lisa Garland that almost made me cry. I don't want to reveal much because part of the game's appeal is in the story itself.

     Graphics (9/10)
The limitations of the PS1 actually is an advantage in the game, making the city more dark and scary, the constant fog gives the city an special touch in the scary part. The monsters are really amazing and can scare the hell out of you if you aren't expecting them.

    Closing comments:
Silent Hill is one great experience, the only draw back that i can think of is the controllers and camera, because the rest is just simply amazing and make this game an addicting masterpiece.

For the person who loved complex plots and Hollywood production values, there was Metal Gear Solid; for the RPG gamer, there was Suikoden; for the gamer who wanted a good story and fun non-linear gameplay, there was Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Silent Hill is no exception; by improving the foundation set by Resident Evil, it became one of the most memorable survival horror game...
