I've never taken the plunge and played an MMORPG, but this is looking pretty awesome to me, very reminiscent to KOTOR which are two of my all time favorite games.

Are there any others like me who have never played an MMO and are interested in this game?

Honest question, what do you think is reminiscent to KOTOR about this game?

Both, and because it is, in a sense, the spiritual successor to KOTOR.

EDIT: It's just that this game gives me generic mmo vibe instead of epic bioware RPG vibe. I guess your points are valid, except for the combat which is standard MMo fare instead of tactical groupbased.

@jozzy: I agree with my feathery, beaked friend here.

While Bioware will no doubt craft a wonderful story in SWTOR, I am sadly convinced that the MMO aspect will fall flat on it's face.

There were previews calling it out as one of the most stale MMORPG's they have ever played, from the actual game perspective. And from what footage I have seen, I tend to agree. Still, i'm very curious how this game turns out.

I am incredibly excited for this game. It playing like an MMO doesn't bother me, I still love how they play. I would still play WoW if I wasn't bored of the content.

i jus wanna kno do the storie change? cause there ber like soooo many pple in MMOs so how do they make a story that seem like it matters? i dunno. still star wars is cool! i hope dis is epic and awesumm

@McGhee_the_Insomniac: I have my eye on it, but I'm a bit bummed at how similar the combat looks to something like WoW which I've already played for years. If you haven't ever played an MMO, at least it will all be fresh for you.

Lately, though, MMOs have begun moving in a more "actiony" direction. There are some MMOs, like TERA, that are even built to play with a controller instead of keyboard and mouse. The style of gameplay we see in SWTOR might become obsolete not long after the game launches. We'll see how it goes.

First things first. Proper embed players.

I HATE TotalBiscuit. HATE! I actually can't watch this for his fucking voice!

This actually makes me want to pre-order it. I like the graphics and the standard combat works. The cut-scenes are in the mold of Dragon Age and Mass Effect so that gives them the means to deliver the story properly.

Very psyched for this game. WoW had a pointlessness to everything that happened ("I raid to get better gear to raid better"), but story added to quest design makes the grind seem less-so. I also really like the classes in the game, and how all of them can do a little bit of everything.

Every class in The Old Republic looks appealing. Not sure which one to go with first!

For Youtube - I simply rightclick the player and selcect 'copy embed html'.
