I bought, unfortunately or not, everything that I wanted during that Exploratory sale just a few weeks earlier. I keep hoping that a certain new game released will be at least 10 bucks off for a short amount of time...

That and Shadow Warrior was what I call a good game. Worth playing. Love it's sale price.

@bisonhero: Since the sale proper started, I got:

    • Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
    • Shadow Warrior
    • LYNE
    • R.U.S.E.
    • Prison Architect
    • Hack 'n' Slash + Spacebase DF-9
    • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
    • Sanctum

Last week, I was doing a bunch of trading and what not and got all these games for incredibly cheap, about $40 for all of it:

    • Red Faction Complete Bundle
    • Ziggurat
    • Paradox Platinum Pack (Europa Universalis IV, Crusader Kings II, etc - $4.50!)
    • Star Wars: Empire at War Gold
    • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Echelon Pack
    • Dishonored GOTY
    • Saints Row IV Game of the Century Edition
    • Payday 2 with all DLC
    • X-3 Terran Conflict
    • Space Engineers
    • The Walking Dead: Season 2
    • Call of Juarez
    • Plus about 15 indie games from a couple of Indiegala bundles\

I totally, inexplicably, waited 3 years to pick up Bulletstorm!!!! I have bought a few more games than I usually do in these sales... Bulletstorm, Ethan Carter, Wolf Among Us, Metal Gear Rising, Rage, AVP, Don't Starve, Alpha Protocol, and Lords of the Fallen so far.

I decided to splurge a little bit to fill up what I will play for the next couple of months and still have only spent about 50 bucks so far. That's not bad for games that will last me a bit.

I bought the Golf Club yesterday.

It seems like a neat thing even if the commentary is hilariously bad

Bulletstorm is worth a buy at this price. I got it for $5 in one of the previous sales and I thought it was well worth it.

Since I own the game, I'll download and install it for you and see what happens. It's a ton of fun and really cheap, it would be a shame to miss out on it for what "might" be a problem. It's 7gb so it should only take me about 20 minutes to install.

edit: It works fine. I was asked to sign in to Games for Windows Live, it updated, then I jumped right into the single player campaign without any difficulties at all. I tried multiplayer, got an error message about my Live account privileges. Not sure if that is related to a Gold subscription or if the multiplayer just doesn't work anymore.

Shadow Warrior is pretty awesome, I think I finished that game last year or something, it was PC exclusive, so it's a first-person shooter that was developed without the limitations of a dual-stick gamepad, which makes for some very hectic but extremely rewarding moments. You need a modern rig though.

I might but LA Noire, I think I'm old enough now to appreciate that kind of game, hah!

Edit: I just bought LA Noire Complete from Nuuvem, which is a Portuguese site that was selling it for 3.38 USD (comes with a steam key). Steam store needs to step up their game!

Well...the Metro Redux Bundle was just $16.99 before the Winter Sale started. Now it's $24.98 at 50% off as a Daily Deal. I was waiting for it to go on sale again for at least $16.99, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Strange that they would discount it more before the sale started. The Nuuvem price is definitely better.

I already own 2033 and Last Light, before the sale owners of the originals were getting 50% discounts on the Redux versions. Now that's gone, and it's just 50% off...which is what it would have cost me anyway.

Yea that's exactly what I was thinking, I saw it go on sale for $16.99 before too but it is more expensive as a Daily Deal during the Winter Sale which is the first time I've ever seen that happen.

Edit: WOAH I just realised, the Metro Redux being sold from Nuuvem cannot be played outside Brazil!

On the nuuvem store page it says:

REGION LOCKED: Este jogo NÃO pode ser jogado fora do Brasil

    Which translates to:

This game can be played outside Brazil NOT

Huh, my post from earlier must have gotten eaten by the mobile site.

Anyway, my gets thus far are Skyrim, Shadow Warrior, and just for the hell of it I bought Postal 2 for $2.50 on HumbleBundle. (I also bought Isaac Rebirth for a friend)

Still hoping New Vegas Ultimate Edition will fall down to $5 like it did a few weeks ago. Kicking myself for not hopping on that when I had the chance.

Big one today for me looks like Mount Your Friends for $1.99, that is the lowest it has ever been as far as I know.

The hidden gem today may just be Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines for $4.99. Hell of an RPG, it's a bit dated but worth playing if you missed it up until this point. Discounts to $4.99 are nothing new for this game either, though.

Saints Row IV is $4.99 again if you missed last week's pre-sale.

Why oh why does the combined Skyrim DLC keeps being more expensive than the Legendary Edition? It is a bit of a pet peeve but I got original Skyrim and buying the legendary edition means I got another obsolete game in my library. And besides, buying the whole game over again should be more expensive than just the DLC anyway, or?

My first big day of purchases and I got:

    • Panzer Corps
    • Valiant Hearts: The Great War™ / Soldats Inconnus : Mémoires de la Grande Guerre™
    • NBA 2K15
    • Shadow Warrior
    • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire

Previously I had purchased Assassin's Creed III and Rise of Nations: Extended Edition.

@nictel: Dawngaurd and Dragonborn are $5 each on Amazon right now. Lowest I've seen either of them in a long time.

Mount Your Friends has online multiplayer.

Like most things multiplayer, I like to be able to sit next to my opponent and if they are better than me, try to make it harder for them by smacking the controller out of their hands.

@nictel: This actually males no dfference. Picking up Legendary will update ypur existing Skyrim to that version i your library, it will not show up seperatly. Ive done it myself.

Oh that's good to hear. See I got a separate folder now with "Better version available" which already contains 10 games; e.g. it contains Dragon Age (when I got the ultimate edition) and Deus Ex: Human Revolution (For when I got the Director's Cut). It is nice to hear that Skyrim does this better.

@baka_shinji17: It's quite good! It doesn't get into technical/game design stuff very much. It's largely a profile of Team Meat and Phil Fish, the ups and downs of creating such a big project with a small number of people, and how it affects them emotionally? There's also a brief interview with Jonathan Blow, though it's a relatively minor part of the movie.

Haha, yeah, it's always fun when you find one of those on Steam. I mean, people will defend some pretty mediocre games, so to be overwhelmingly negative, you know it has to be pretty bad.

I usually check the overwhelmingly negative games out first during the monday deals or something, you can find some properly awful games there. Morbid curiosity man :D

The strange part is reading those reviews. They're almost all extremely negative, yet spread out over a period of months - many from people who own hundreds of games on Steam. Evidently buying games without reading reviews is still a thing in 2014, even among experienced gamers. I don't get it.

I'm thinking about getting Dead Rising 3 on Green Man Gaming with its 45% discount (20% off voucher which comes down to $30). Although i was kinda wondering if the PC port is worth getting or am I better off getting the Xbox One version on boxing day?
