Seven bucks may seem cheap for such a ridiculous type of fun, but not for pc! Unless you have an awesome gaming rig, Saints Row 2 is GOING to run like shit. Changing the resolution doesn't offer any help, either. Even the toughest rigs out there seem to have a little trouble with this game. I don't know why. Facts are facts. You'd be better off heading over to Quiznos and getting yourself an awesome foot-long sub.

Summer Sale 07/02/10 DON'T BUY SAINTS ROW 2!!!
I second this opinion too, it runs horribly. Not sure if it's better with a quad core since it said it's recommended, however with a dual core, it's choppy.
If you have a console, get it for that instead. This game is a horrible port, one of the worst i've ever seen.
I bought the episodes and barely break 15 frames." @Jack268: My modestly powerful PC's running GTA4 at a pretty regular 30-40 FPS. "
Definitely playable, but far from ideal.
if i can run crysis on full i doubt it would be a problem. have an i5 rig though so i can run whatever i want. i would get it on console anyway cause i would rather play with my buds on psn lol
I agree, this game runs like crap. I got it with the THQ pack this winter, thinking it couldn't be as bad as everyone said.
I was so wrong, even when I put it as low as it would go, as soon as i got in a car and started driving the game stopped like every ten seconds to load up the next ''zone''.
Thank god I got it as part of the THQ pack and didn't waste any money on this game by itself.
I forgot to mention, there is no X1050 or X1080p options available. Honestly, it's like they aren't even trying.
I actually own the PC version, and really enjoyed it. It's terribly optimised and I had to run it on low graphics settings, and it looks like complete trash on low graphics settings, but I still managed to get a load of fun out of it. So if you don't mind it looking awful, you can still get enjoyment out of it.
Although do take the specs with a pinch of salt. My laptop has a 2.0 Ghz dual core processor, a Nvidia 9500M and 3GB of RAM (which is a little bit higher than the recommended specs), and I still had to play it on low settings to get a playable frame rate, so I wouldn't recommend purchasing it if you have anything worse than that.
So yeah, it has biiig issues, and go into it knowing that, but you don't necessarily need to rule it out completely.
it is better 99% of the time to just get pc games that are not ports. they are so damn lazy nowadys when it comes to porting. i just get those for console and say fuck it
" in other news: general knox and other expansion packs for borderlands are 3.40(US) right now! if you don't own borderlands, GET IT! this is the best deal so far IMO. "Definitely. General Knoxx is the only worthwhile piece of DLC I've ever purchased for any game. Definitely, definitely worth it.
" I had heard that with a powerful enough computer you could just brute force past the issues, but I don't know how 'powerful' that might happen to be. That's a shame, because Saints Row 2 is excellent, and only about $4 here. What's the word on Prototype on PC? Any good? "I'm curious of Prototype, as well. I could buy it for PS3, but this price is too good if the pc version is half-decent.
buy it for Xbox 360 if you have one! this gam is fucking awesome, but yeah I heard the PC version sucks ass.
It does run like shit. But I got it to run at like 30-40 fps-in co-op with another person nontheless.
"He's right! They've come out and said that they aren't working on any further patches, too. And now I want a sandwich. Dang. "
Not even any Windows Live Achievements to make it worth while.

" @Jimbo said:It has issues. I had to change some sound settings because it was incredibly low even on full sound. Also the game has a negative effect against powerful PC's. If your PC can run it faster than 60fps the mouse controls crap out and become a stuttering mess so a framerate limiter program is a must. Other than that it seems ok port-wise." as far as on topic goes, I think I may pick up SR2 anyway. I have an i7 and a GTX285. I think it's time I got my money's worth =P. Also I started this post as a reply, and for some reason that first line won't go not-bold.
Saints Row 2 wins.
