    I am trying to play borderlands (it was preloaded on steam) and it says that this game is unavailable please try at another time...

    Why would you try to play an unreleased game? What!?! Try on Oct 30th as the Steam page says. Preload is exactly that, a pre-release load.

    Unless it's already out in other regions that is. In that case, tough luck, busy servers. Restart Steam/try at another time.

    @demontium: You're in North America, right? Did you try restarting Steam? Did it decrypt the pre-load yet?

    The servers might be overloaded. Take a look in the settings, try changing your download server and restart steam. It might help. It might not, it's hit or miss but it's better than nothing.
