Is it possible that this fighting title could be?

It most certainly could be...but we still have a long ways to go until talking about it.

I think calling out Game Of The Year in January is kinda dumb. For all we know, 20 games that trounce SF4 in every way could come out this year

dont think it if blizzard got a game in 2009 like starcraft II or Diablo III

When was the last time that a fighter made game of the year...for any magazine/website?  The fighting genre just isn't that revelant anymore and even a game like Street Fighter 4 isn't going to have a huge impact.

Of course I hope to be proven wrong.

It has potential for sure, but it's only January.

This thread is pointless because everyone knows that Bob's Game will be game of the year for 2009.

I doubt that a fighting game will ever make Game of the Year, but it could definitely take Fighter of the Year easily.

Well yeah, what do you expect, it is of course a Street Fighter Game after all.  I think it has game of the Decade potential...lol

fighting games are too shallow to be critically acclaimed , but I won't say its not game of the year for the 300,000 people that actually buy this game.

But of all fighting games of the past decade, Street FIghter IV probably has the best chance

Fighting games don't usually get picked for game of the year.

SF4 will never be GOTY for the same reason all sports games from Skate to Madden will never be GOTY either. This is why we have categories like best fighting game.......

I think it would be great if a fighting game won game of they year considering there are not too many great fighting games these days.
