I have been reading the SFIV forums on here for a while, even though I didn't own the game. I have been looking for a good fighting game on the 360 and you guys have convinced me that this game is worth playing. 
So today I traded in a whole lot of old games, something I was going to do anyway, and an old 360, and bought myself a used copy SFIV. I have played a little of bit of it and really enjoy it, and was hoping to get involved in your community inside of GB.
 
My question is though, I have 7 days where I could return SFIV for the 27 dollars I bought it for and put down a pre-order for Super. Is this something I should consider doing? Are most of you guys planning on making the switch? Is it really only going to be $40? 

Super Street Fighter IV will make Street Fighter IV vanilla obsolete.  That's how fighting games work.  As to whether or not you should return SFIV, that's up to you.

 Everyone will be switching to super, it's like going from COD4 to MW2. 
 
As for returning SFIV that depends on whether money is an issue. If it isn't then just play SFIV until Super comes out.

Its up to you if you want to start fresh on  the new game or get the experience now. I would say keep the game for now since still a lot to be learned from SF4. You'll get use to the basics and learn a handful of characters. The online community is still very strong so there are plenty of people to play. Once Super comes out, you should be ready to hop in with the rest of us. It's mostly the same game and buying both isn't a waste. Also, see if you can find a stick for cheap so you can learn on that as you play the game.

Yeah I'll probably just play until Super comes out and then trade in SFIV and maybe something else and get it, but that way I give it some time and see how it goes. I'll give it a couple days and see if I enjoy myself.

Granted, I don't pay much attention to used pricing, but I'd reckon returning it now would net you way more. If money isn't an issue, SF4 has a ton of content to tide you over while improving your skills. It's definitely a case of newer is better.

Stick with SFIV till the day SSFIV.  Don't even think about trading in SFIV or I will hunt you down and make you re-buy it.

IF you take the time to learn a character somewhat by the time the game comes out at least you won't be jumping in with all these people who will wipe the floor with you.

Yeah just stick with it, and then you won't be a scrub when super comes out. :P

I was about to buy Street Fighter IV but heard the announcement of the SSIV so I'm waiting out for that. $40 bucks for a great game plus more? I'm actually sold.

Yes. If you "could care less" then that means that you do actually care and are capable of caring less. If you "couldn't care less" that means you do not care at all, and thus you're incapable of caring less because you don't care in the first place. "

If you got the money then buy Super too when it comes out. My plan is to buy Super then get the thing that you get for having SFIV then trade it in... Or maybe I'll just keep old SFIV. I'll probably only get like £5 for it anyways.

Keep 4 till SUPER comes out.  You've got just enough time to learn the game.  Also, there are only going to be some minor tweaks to the current roster so you'll have a 1 up on dudes just buying street fighter for the first time.
 
Though if you think you'll switch to a stick at some point, I wouldn't recommend learning it with a pad first.  It will be much harder to pick it up.

Wait for Super, in my opinion.

I actually think I am passing on Super. Turning on SFIV even for five matches made me not even want to play it. It's probably better in the long run, it might as well be a fuckin' addiction.
