Just wondering what you think are the changes that should/will be made.
I think the character balance is fine, maybe some small tweaks and new characters.
- Hitboxes in training mode would be welcome.
- Tournament mode like in SSF2T:HDR, where a group of people play each other, while others watch.
- Option to turn off shortcuts or take them out completely!
- Improve Netcode? If they can anyway.
Street Fighter IV

After nearly a decade in hiatus, Capcom's signature mainline fighting game series resurfaces with its fourth main installment, combining the traditional 2D gameplay with modern fully-3D graphics.
Thoughts on SF:IV (2nd Edition)
I agree with being able to turn shortcuts off but not getting rid of them completely. That would disable new players from learning as quickly. Also i want Q.
1. No more shortcuts!
2. This will never happen, but a system that tracks who you and your opponents play as the most, and then lets you universally ignore people who play certain characters....looking at you gief. Added bonus, no more Ken hate.
3. Nerf Sagat
4.Blind selection in all modes...that is a great idea Br3adfan
Also some combos would become much harder. For example doing any sort of crouching move into a dragon punch is tough for me unless i use a shortcut.
I think that Gief players wouldnt be able to do standing 360s consistantly (unless they have super quick hands). To do a standing SPD i do a half circle back then up-back. Everytime i try for the full 360 i jump. I could just be my crap skills with Gief though.
1. Nerf Sagat!
2. Nerd Sagat!
3. Nerf Sagat!
4.Nerf Sagat!
5. NERF SAGAT! WHY IS ONE GRAB 20% DAMAGE WHYY
" @Plasma: You saying that makes me think if they would back it compatable with first edition SF4. It most likely wouldn't work but just a thought. That is why at times when we play I throw out a super that will connect on the first part, and whiff the second part. Nothing is more infuriating then intending to do two crouching jabs->srk->fadc ultra but instead getting a unintentional super.....throws you off your game.
Make Oro a playable character. I never played anything other then SFII and SFIV but he seems like a really interesting character to me and I'd like to learn to play as him.
Also make so to block a full string of hits you actualy have to hold back/down-back to block each hit instead of just blocking the first hit then spamming the Shoryuken motion and tapping punch to instantly shoryuken the moment the string of hits ends or breaks.
" 1. Nerf Sagat! 2. Nerd Sagat! 3. Nerf Sagat! 4.Nerf Sagat! 5. NERF SAGAT! WHY IS ONE GRAB 20% DAMAGE WHYY "
Nerd Sagat for God Tier :P
But seriously if they make it so that when I boot up the game I don't get hit by that "INDESTRUCTIBLE!!!" bs of a song then... I'm happy, also a better way of getting a match. Sick and tired of seeing a green bar connection, clicking it hoping to get it and getting "Unable to play" and then when it bring me back to the found games menu... I see the same game that again and if I pick it again I get the same "Unable to play" thing, If I'm unable to play then stop showing me the room XD
1. Nerf Sagat (Like most people are saying.)
2. Better Online.
3. Quarter Matches.
4. Tournament Mode
5. New characters that people actually want, like DeeJay and T.Hawk.
6. Try to fix some of the shortcuts.
7. If I play and online and I'm using Japanese voices and the other player is using English voices, let my guy speak Jap. and let the other guy speak Eng. (This was in BlazBlue and I thought it was awesome.)
8. Better training options.
9. When doing the Trails, have a hint video that shows what it looks like when executed correctly.
10. Try to balance out the game even more.
11. Take out Ken.
12. Ignore #11. :P
13. I want to be able to save replays of matches whenever, not just from Championship mode.
14. Blind selection in all modes. (Player matches could be the only exception.)
15. Have a sound test in the options. I want to listen to the awesome music in the game.
16. Maybe have more unlockable stuff, like hidden music tracks and more artwork.
17. Do a barrel roll!
18. Natal Support? :P
19. This will never happen but, I would love to have cross platform play for all three systems. (360, PS3, and PC)
20. More alternate costumes.
I could probably list some more but, that should be plenty.
" @Jolly_Lolly: Didn't you used to play Sagat? "Yes, unfortunately. I despise that bastard now.
All I can say is make a training mode that actually teaches new players how to play but I know that won't happen.
Training mode hitboxes, reversal window reduced to 2-5 frames, removable shortcuts, and either improved netcode or the ability to filter by connection strength. The character tweaks that stand out are giving ultra juggles to the characters that don't have them, allowing all crouching characters to sweep lariat, adding much more block pushback to lariat, and perhaps adding 1-2 more frames of blockstun to most moves to hopefully promote more offensive play. Also, I guess the tiger knee should not hit character at the peak of their jump, nor should it hit on the way down; it could even use a few more frames of recovery. Oh, and remove the juggle state caused by anti-air trades.
Dynamic Battle and Reverse Dynamic Battle modes from SF Alpha 3 (2v1 and 1v2). I love mixing it up with these modes.
Yun and Ibuki :P
Endings that make sense!?
But but but, I use shortcuts still...
I keep thinking about this, and allowing those crazy training mode toggles in player matches would be pretty cool. Like infinite super or something, just to mess around.
But yeah, no more "Can't connect to player" BS and a quarter mode would make that an instant buy for me.
Ok first off Sagat is overpowered. 2nd Gief has to work to get in so Chewii you need to work on that if you can win against Sagat. Its kind of a waiting game when you play Gief. Because of the massive amounts of damage he does up close its understandable that he has to really work to get in. 3rd Stang you do seem kind of hostile sometime.
You guys are thinking of minor tweaks. The second edition of SF4 should be as big of a difference as SF3 to 2nd impact.
- How about some air Focus Attacks?
- The ability to choose what your ultra move will be and the more damaging ones will take more hits to charge up (this would also imply more ultra moves)
Then can some the minor tweaks
- being able to save my replays whenever to the console so I can watch and learn from my mistakes
- training mode hitboxes
- better netcode (should also be automatically be implied)
- and perhaps some character balance but do it in a smart way like don't nerf sagats damage, but rather make it so that his recovery time for his moves are longer or something like that. (generally keep whatever strength top tier characters have, but make thier weaknesses more apparent.)
Ultimately I agree with you tho cause hes not that bad of a characters just he looks like a pile of dong, why the hell is he holding his arms up like that is that really how capcom thought Native Americans stood?!
" @Chewii101: Yeah Stangs like herpes he just keeps showing up. "I like to think of myself being like gonorrhea. Herpes would be my second choice :p

"3rd Stang you do seem kind of hostile sometime. "I recall a certain somebody wanting to go to a certain other somebodies house and kicking them in the balls, while getting paid for doing it. Doesn't that count?
Alright here's a couple.
- Ghost mode in trials to explain combos to noobies
- Quarter/Spectator mode whatever. Lobbies damnit.
- Hitbox display in training.
- Akuma gets air teleports and 2000 stamina.
- Rolento, do it.
- Replays, let me save any and all of them to my HDD.
sagat - biggest problem I have is when I have quite obviously jump-cleared him during an ultra/super yet the hitboxing still decides i got caught.
chun-specific
A. I want to be able to fo the spinning birdkick as < > K like in HDR
and
B. I really, really, really want that upwards kick she used to be able to do back, the version of it in IV is absolutely useless for people jumping in on you.
1 Online Arcade mode...
2 Better matchmaking (allows you to just continuesly go to the next match)
3 Balance a little more
4 Add a shitlode more to the roster
5 Bigger move sets
6 Make Seth not cheep (Or a new Boss would be even better)
7 Give Sakura the ultimate*
*The most important one
P.S ONLINE RANKED MATCHES TO PLAY EVENLY SKILLED PLAYERS AGAINST EACH OTHER!!
- Universal Overhead
- improved online
- Replays
- Quarter mode
- Yun, Yang, Charlie, Adon. (The only characters mentioned in the game that are not playable so i figured they'll first if they any new characters)
The character balance seems fine. I don't see why so many people have a problem with sagat.
" @mattysen said:It would be like an tournament, but ONLINE! And the winner would win something good, something really good. But I dont know what" 1 Online Arcade mode... "What would differ from regular Arcade mode? Also, fuck T.Hawk. He used to always get me in Super Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. "
" @Scooper said:An Icon or Title? like if you win a 20 round tournament with losers and winners brackets, with a Grand Final with multiple sets." @mattysen said:It would be like an tournament, but ONLINE! Then you get like a special gold trophy icon, or "Grand Champion" Title.
