So I was thinking about the keyboard controls for SFIV, and I had a funny thought. 
 
Sure it feels like shit, kinda plays like shit, and really is nothing like having pads or joysticks... BUT: 
 
Wouldn't people who're used to playing older SF games on emulators like MAME, and SNES emulators and such be able to actually perform well with a keyboard? I'm very curious haha.

Yes... if you play a lot with certain controls you'll get used to them and be able to play well.  Doesn't mean those are the best controls to adapt to, but you can play well with anything if you get used to it.

I knew a guy who got Mortal Kombat 2 on the PC and before he had a game pad or anything, we tried to play against each other and we HAD TO USE THE SAME KEYBOARD. That lasted about ten seconds.

There is someone I remember at Evo who had a custom arcade stick with arrow keys instead of a joystick, on the RIGHT SIDE no less, just like a actual keyboard. IMO, arrow keys make SPD/720 motions near impossible, and it makes techniques like double-tapping or plinking also highly unlikely.

I'm sure I'd be the same thing if you gave me a SNES controller and asked me to play.  I used to play the shit out of Super Street Fighter II Turbo on my SNES, and got really used to the controls.
