Zombie adventure game? Sign me up!!

#54 Posted by audiosnag (1604 posts) -

The idea of this makes me happy in pants.
I'm interested to see what they do with Jurassic Park, that might be a good indicator of how they handle serious content.

#55 Posted by MisterMouse (3555 posts) -

that would be kind of cool, but I want to see tell tale to put out unique "stuff" not "stuff" based on other "stuff"!

Tell Tale Games?  Walking Dead?  I like both of those things.  Good news.

Finally, somebody is going to make a video game about zombies.

#59 Posted by GunslingerPanda (4798 posts) -

Er, this could be anything. Tons of stuff get the multi-media thing now, particular TV-comics. Two off the top of my head: Buffy and Heroes. Both of which would fit the TellTale style more, though I'd rather it was Th Walking Dead.

#60 Posted by Stete (739 posts) -

I would love to see that, especially if its plot is at the same level as the comics. Would be cool if the visuals are in black and white as well.

I'm from the UK and I don't think the shows has surfaced here yet, however I have read some of the paperbacks and they're certainly not bad.

More interested in something Jurassic park related though. The original film was brilliant as a spectacle even if the plot or characters weren't of the same grade. Would like to see what Tell tale have done, as I found the sequels to be far too familiar to be enjoyable.

Telltale is working like crazy. Either that or they are making so much money they can have tons of guys working in the offices.

#64 Posted by prestonhedges (1965 posts) -

Putting "Rumor:" in the title is probably a step in the right direction.

Thanks.

NO!!!! Not Telltale, fuck them. I mean they make the best adventure games around but adventure games are so damn boring. I want this game to be a first person action game, very stylistic, story driven of course, we need good acting to make it good like the TV show, very gory combat. Also, it should be more stealth based, like it's very very difficult to survive if your not stealthy, BUT, even when you are trying to be silent and stay out of sight, there is a system in place like Left 4 Dead that spawns enemies at random spots along your way. But dont make it like dead space where the fear aspect comes solely from jump scares.

YES THIS IS POORLY WRITTEN I HAD TO WIRTE IT FAST MY COMP IS DYING.

My favorite comic being turned into a game by my one of my fav devs? I AM SO FUCKING IN

The show was pretty good as well, could of used less CG blood but pretty good.

I own the entire season 1 and all future episodes via Amazon for $5, which I still have to watch, but hopefully I will like it and be interested in the game!

They said that the IP recently made a splash, Buffy and Heroes are not recent in either TV or comics.  Walking Dead is recent in the TV world.

this would be sweet, loved the show

#72 Posted by DCam (125 posts) -

Yes please! Comic and TV Show both managed to be awesome and different from each other. More multi- for this media!

#73 Posted by Vao (328 posts) -

meh, Does every old and new franchise need a Point and click adventure game tied to it? Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Walking dead, whats next?

#74 Posted by JackG100 (405 posts) -

The Jurassic Park Survival custom map for Warcraft III is pretty sweet!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Could be hawt.

Tell Tale is really moving up in the world. I wonder what percentage of their audience is old-school gamers, and how many are recent converts. Even in the casual market, I don't feel that casuals have a good grasp on old-school adventure games.

I hope it works out

" No, this is obviously in reference to the upcoming("just launched") Pushing Daisies comic based on the cancelled ABC series. It changes life as we know it because he can bring people/things back to life with a touch, but if he leaves them alive something/someone else dies.  Actually, thinking about it, Telltale could probably make a pretty cool game based on Pushing Daisies, since the show was a detective show with a mystery that involved finding clues and talking to (dead) people. "
Oh god, please let this be the case.
Also I didn't know there was going to be Pushing Daisies comic. So excite!

Why do you think so many people are complaining about "another zombie game".  What's the point of doing another action based, gruesome horror game when there are already so many on the market.  Similarly to Jurassic Park, I think the best way to handle something like this is to keep it slow, make it feel like you're really in danger and having to use your surroundings and intelligence to survive.. you know, like most zombie movies?  rather than just blowing everything apart with a shotgun like every other game in existence.

If you find adventure games boring, too bad for you.  I'd take another 20 of these over yet another cover based third person shooter.
#81 Posted by Gellrock (381 posts) -

As much as I love the show... I'll be holding off for the Zombie MMO game in development....

#82 Posted by Xaviersx (158 posts) -

Hopefully its good,, a licensed property in a landscape of other zombie games, and not cashing in on a hot property, detracting from it instead of adding.

#83 Posted by Virtua_Ben (132 posts) -

Telltale is my new best friend.  I LOVE J-Park and The Walking Dead.

#84 Posted by Arrested_Developer (721 posts) -

I'd rather have another Monkey game.

#85 Posted by Vigorousjammer (2508 posts) -

Awesome!
will definitely be keeping an eye on this.

#86 Posted by MrKlorox (11209 posts) -

I hope the whole surviving/living-in a post zombie apocalypse world idea doesn't get too over used by the time Dead State comes out. Let's keep it in the L4D hoard slaying realm in the mean time, other devs.

#87 Posted by DukesT3 (1918 posts) -

I still like zombies... yes I do... I always have and always will. So sue me!

#88 Posted by bobtastic715 (72 posts) -

Oh man, I can't wait for this. The show is really good and Tell Tale makes awesome games. 88 zombies per magnum!

#89 Posted by Metiphis (388 posts) -

I love Telltale, I hope they can pull this off.  I will say I am loving their track record so far, where licensed properties are concerned.

#90 Posted by SmallCaveGames (37 posts) -

I hate that I love zombies, but yeah I'd buy this.

#91 Posted by Fezz (442 posts) -

That could be cool.

#92 Posted by wickedsc3 (1046 posts) -

" changing life as some know it"

A line to that effect is actually on the back of the graphic novels. I am very hopeful.

#94 Posted by Pop (2641 posts) -

since it's developed by telltale we can assume it's a point and click adventure game.

#95 Posted by regularname (14 posts) -

man I can't even imagine what this will be, and yet I still want it so bad.
