The Elder Scrolls
The Elder Scrolls is a long-running franchise of role-playing games made by Bethesda Softworks. The series is known for offering much freedom to the player and many choices of how to play.
Any news or rumors on The Elder Scrolls: V?
I haven't heard this, I heard the Skyrim rumour but I don't think I wan't a snowy environment
I hope there's some news soon

HA!
I laugh at your link
but seriously I reckon 2012
" It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "agreed
" It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "
It probably exists. It's probably in development. It hopefully will be using new technology. It's probably not coming out for a while. 2012 at the earliest I would say.
Naa, Gamebryo engine (which they've already confirmed). If they bring that engine to the next gen of consoles..." It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "
The only question is if they want to make another Elder Scrolls this gen.
" It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "I keep hearing people say this, but I don't know why.
" It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "That's assuming the "next generation" is coming anytime soon, which if Microsoft and Sony were to have their way wouldn't come until 2015.
No." It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "
Todd Howard said that the game they're working on now is coming out on the current consoles. And I think it's probably fair to assume that their current project is The Elder Scrolls V.
" It's been confirmed it will run on the Gamebryo engine, obviously. Nah, not really. "oh my god i was gonna smack someone until you said JK. good lord am i sick of gamebryo. it should use CRYENGINE3 AWWW YEAH
The next generation is still a long time off, considering what they're doing with Kinect and Move and all that stuff. Elder Scrols 5 will be out most likely in 2012 and it'll be for this generation. Oh and Bethesda already announced at a press conference that the new game is subtitled Alinor.
From that subtitle you can take certain guesses at the game, since Alinor is the capital of the Summerset Isle, the game will probably t ake place in the High Elven homeland.
But this all could just be a load of internet lies just like everything else right now. The only thing that is certain is that they are working on it, it's just a matter of when.

Morrowind: One Gen
Oblivion: Another Gen
ES 5: Next Gen?
People are just following the pattern. It could go either way, and I would agree with them, but because of the unnatural lenthening og this gen with new motion control systems I think Bethesda might come out with ES 5 before then. It could go wither way in my opinion.
Does anyone know if the old rumor of ESV being online is true? I remember a long time ago a rumor saying Bethesda gained rights to a url which implied such.
I hear that it's a PS3 exclusive and requires the Move, but the motion controls are only used when playing the fishing mini-game.
But don't worry there will be a Kinect version released a few month later where you control your character with 1-1 motion, the entire time! Oh and no quick travel.

I heard that it was going to be on the 3DS and use the move controller. I'm sure I'm right and you're wrong.
I guess they assume because Oblivion was a launch titl...oops
Well Morrowind was a ...yeah I don't know why either. Is it because Oblivion was such an envelope pusher graphics wise?
A lot of rumors.
I hear that there are gonne be hot pixies and a giant that you need to climb up and that a unicorn becomes your friend/noble steed and you have to care for it to make it happy and stuff.
I like rumors and people asking for them
" It should have a non shitty main storyline. "For that they would have to get a guy(or girl) who can peform miracles..
April fools! =P" @EpicSteve: Oh and Bethesda already announced at a press conference that the new game is subtitled Alinor. "
" It's probably fair to assume it will be a launch title for the next generation. "I certainly hope you are wrong since I am not ready to jump on the NextGen of gaming consoles since I spent way too much i pent so far on this current gen of gaming. I think it's taking longer then usual because Bethesda wants to use the Id Tech 5 for the next morowind game.No point in paying royalties for using someone else's engine when you already own one the most powerful engines.
I really hope there is a new engine and it can make a seamless world possible. Also fuck Face FX. that is the worst face rendering technology there is.
Apparently it's not an MMO, THANK JEBUS
EDIT: Apparently that article is referencing a blog post from 2009 as well :(
Now that New Vegas is out, They will most likely announce it around December-February and release around September-November
Thing is Bethesda is not dumb. While it may be safe to assume next gen consoles, we really havent been hearing much about it. Almost 5 years ago the 360 came out. And people had been clamoring for the next gen a year before that. I think we are getting comfortable in what our consoles have to offer and so are developers. They dont want to jump into a new console gen, especially when the consoles from Sony and Microsoft could be a year apart in launch. Consoles also have a long way to go for prices to go down so that the market can be saturated and the big 3 know that. When the consoles get down to 150, and thats with a hard drive mind you, then we can start hearing the rumblings of new systems. But at 300 bucks, Sony and Microsoft are sitting pretty. So what does this all mean? There are a shit load of people out there with PS3s and 360s that have been buying the last 2 fallout games and so if you were bethesda, which would you do? Put out your game to as many people as possible? Or wait for a next gen that is not clear when it will be and have a lot less likely buyers?

Oblivion: 2006 on Xbox 360
Seeing as the lifespan of this gen is going to put last gen to shame (unless you count PS2 as still going), we can expect it to arrive for this current gen. My money is on 2012, a reveal in Q3 2011 and the first next gen console in 2015.
