So I just picked up my Premium Edition copy earlier, totally in love with all the extra stuff (bonus DVD, soundtrack, manuals and guides, map, papercraft papers etc..), and I just played for 30 minutes and I'm soooooo looking forward to continuing Geralt's story. The combat grew on my instantly, i love the control schemes and world/movement physics, and I also find the aesthetics and visual style to be charming!
However, when in close-up on an object or a piece of armor, or even Geralt's body, I couldn't help but notice that the detail simply.. stinks.

I got the game maxed out (ubersampling off), 40-50 FPS and in combat it drops to 30.
Here are some examples of the bad detail: (Click to enlarge)

    . The king's armor

. Look at that bland detail-less stone

    .  Armor

    . Armor
     . Geralt's torso
. The curtains and the symbol on them / the metal safe

Here's a screen of my video settings:

So? Is the game's graphical detail just bad or is there something missing?  Maybe there's a certain graphical option that I shouldn't max out (which doesn't make sense ;p) ?

You have texture Downscaling set to high. Set it to none.

Ah.. That's what you get for maxing everything out without reading the options ;o And now I feel stupid. Anyway, off to play the game

Yeah, that looks worse than my game, and I run it on a 8800GTS.

Yep, the downscaling is killing it. Geralt's body looked way better than that when I played it on medium.

@AhmadMetallic: If you have a second, maybe take another screenshot or two after fixing this setting and post it in here. I'm curious to see the difference.
