    Hey gang!

So, having played both The Witcher 1 and The Witcher 2, I couldn't be more excited to get into the third game. However, I find myself in a bit of a pickle, which I was hoping you guys and gals could help with.

I played through both games on the PC. However, I find myself being tempted to pick up The Witcher 3 on PS4. The main reasoning behind this is that my PC is pretty far away from the living room in my house, which is where the PS4 is. I vastly prefer playing games in the living room, and moving the PC out to the living room or getting a long HDMI cable unfortunately isn't an option. Additionally, I'm a college student, and while I'm away at college (which is thousands of miles away from my home), I have my PS4, but not my PC.

My main question essentially boils down to just how hard the save import hooks in The Witcher 3 go. I really love the concept of all of my decisions from the previous two games being carried over, but I also love the idea of not being locked away in front of the PC for possibly the hundreds of hours that I'm going to spend in the world of this game. For any of you who have found yourselves in a similar situation or have seen the extent of the save import features in The Witcher 3, what should I choose?

    Thanks a bunch, duders.

On consoles, there is no save importing feature. However, there is a save simulation scene that happens a few hours into the game where you will answer questions about choices you made in The Witcher 2. So, I don't think you will really be losing anything by switching platforms from PC to PS4. All of the major choices, at least that I can remember, are accounted for.

I played Witcher 2 on PC but didn't have my save, so I ended up simulating it. I think it's totally fine and they handled it well.

I lost my PC save for W2 and you can do a simulation (select it when you're starting a new game) that allows Geralt to discuss what he did in the prior game just after completing the prologue - it covers most of the major plot points in Witcher 2 and works it out from there. Obviously, some of the minor stuff that may have carried over with your save won't be there but it seems to be a really good solution so if you really want to switch to PS4 then i'd say go for it.
