This game is beautiful whether you play it on ultra or even the lowest possible settings (which is what I'm playing at)

Downgrade or not, the game is still visually beautiful, whether it's the sunlight streaming through the leaves during exploration, or a beautifully framed shot in a cutscene. Share your best screenshots here! (and try being selective, so that we have a collection of quality rather than quality! :D )

If the image contains story spoilers, please hide it in a spoiler block. (Try not glancing at the quest tracker on the right side of the screen, that'd contain spoilers too)

Also, try posting the settings on which your game's running at (low/ medium /high). It'll create a nice database for basic comparisons.

I'll start: (all shots taken on lowest possible settings, but textures on high)

Okay I will roll with it. Here are some of my pics.... All were taken at max settings (even hairworks is on) and 1080p. Also just to verify, no editing was done to the pics at all. Not even a contrast or brightness change.

@karkarov: Holy crap that does look great. What's the main cause for that.. sharpness though? The resolution or texture setting? (mine is 1600x900 at high textures)

Running on all ultra settings at 1080p, sharpening on low because I prefer it that way.

Sharpness is part of it yeah. I also use D3DGear to take my screenshots in PNG so they are pretty much lossless quality as opposed to most people using the Steam SC feature which does lose some fidelity. The game looks stupidly good in play.

Thanks, I'm only at 1440, but it's at 21:9 aspect ratio. I don't have the hardware to push 4k yet! Yours look pretty damn good on 1080p, though. Are you using console controls to get free cam or another program?

This PC that ran The Witcher 2 on maximum settings can run the new game on only medium settings at ~40 FPS, but I'm happy with that!

@armaan8014: Thanks! I'm playing at a mix of ultra, high, and medium. The hair settings are turned off and FPS dedicated at 30. I tried with the hair shit on and at 60 frames a second. The video stuttered a bit. I hate stuttering so I turned it off and lowered the FPS.

Dropped the resolution from 1600x900 to 1280x720 to get a frame rate boost. Surprisingly it doesn't look bad at all! (especially when connected to a TV)

Did anyone find a way to make screenshots in the galaxy-version of the game? print screen doesnt seem to work.

Like @armaan8014 said you will need an outside program, there is no in game way to take screenshots for Witcher 3 on pc. Most people on Steam will use the Steam screenshot function that is built in, and GoG Galaxy is going to add a screenshot function "soon". Like I said before I use D3DGear to get my screenshots, Fraps like Armaan uses is okay too but Fraps is much more resource hoggy in general than D3DGear and hasn't been updated in a VERY long time.

@n7: That's one of the most awesome missions I missed out on. My disposition with Djikstra was pretty bad. Especially after punching him in the face and breaking his other leg. Fortunately I do have a save just before starting the mission to get Phillipa. Will I be prompted into the chain of missions after completing the mission to get Phillipa, or does it happen some time before? I really fucking hate that Radovid lived and became a conqueror in my game.

I'm 30 hours in and I haven't even finished the Baron's questline! Just stepped into Oxenfurt, and haven't explored more than half of Velen.

Also, I'm happy you enjoyed the game. I always had faith in CDPR and knew they'd deliver. I feel proud for some reason, like I own the company or something :D But I'm happy they're getting the applause they deserve.

No offense guys but keep the spoilers out of the thread please. Funny vids are cool, funny vids that blatantly spoil a cool quest line because you look right when an explosion happens on the right side of the screen and are forced to notice quest text? Not really all that cool. If you playing on PC by the way you can turn that kind of stuff off. Also not sure how I feel about all the naked lady pics but if the mods allow it *shrug*.

Hehe yeah I've been seeing that same UI for Fraps for years now :P But I'm really used to it and it hasn't given any problems yet. Still, I'm curious about D3D now (as I'm having performance issues with TW3, and would like to gain more FPS if possible.) Maybe I'll try it out!
