    Overview

    To Heart is the third volume in the Visual Novel Series created by Leaf and was released for the PC on May 23, 1997. The title saw a dramatic shift in tone compared to Leaf's past visual novels, which were horror titles, and instead told a light-hearted story about a high school student that can fall in love with one of the game's many heroines based on the choices made by the player.

    To Heart proved to be very successful and was hugely influential in Japan during the 1990s and early 2000s, inspiring many other creators to make similar titles. Later, To Heart was adapted into other forms of media and a remake was released for the PlayStation in 1999 called ToHeart as well as a sequel in 2004 called ToHeart2.
