Not the console Endwar, but still good.
I'm just gonna say this. if your looking for Endwar on the PS3 and 360 on the PSP, then stop. Your not getting it.
Instead the developers decided to make a completely different game for the PSP (DS)). First, its not a voice activated real time strategy. Lets be honest, that wouldn't work on a portable system. Especially if you play the game in portable enviorments (like in public). Its a turn based strategy game.
However the developers decided to changed things up. Turns take place in two phases. An action phase and movement phase, and while you do one, the opponent does the other. An example is if you have two units right next to each other from opposing sides. You are in action and order your unit to attack. You complete the turn and the game plays out the battle. If the opponent isn't killed, they perform the move order made during your action phase.
Other then this, they keep it traditional. Units gain experience increasing defense and attack ratings. You can capture bases where units can repair and build more.
Another differnce between this and the console versions is the story. Endwar PS3/360 is a 3 way World War. On the PSP/DS version its still a world war, but its the EF and US against Russia. Each side tells the same story but slightly differnt and from another perspective. Plus each side is a difficulty setting. The Enforcer Corps is easy mode. Medium is the Joint Strike Force. Hard is the Spetnaz Homeguard, and is locked unless you beat the game on another difficulty.
I would score the game higher, but I'm perplexed why the game doesn't have online multiplayer. It just seems like an obvious game to do it on. However, if you have a friend with a copy of their own, replayiblity is increased by the games map editor.
