In breaking news this evening Sam Fisher will not be coming home this Christmas. Ubisoft believes the game will be ready between 2009-2010
Please feel free to blame me entirely for this news.
Thank you

Splinter Cell: Conviction Delayed Till 2010?
"No you misread. The game is going to be released "Before March 10, 2010". In other words, it could come tomorrow for all we know :o.""Ubisoft now expects the game to arrive during its 2009-2010 fiscal year, which runs April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010."
Yeah and it could also arrive on March 30, 2010. So no I didn't misread thank you very much madame.

This game is going to be complete crap anyway. Ubi just give me another chaos theory style game, not sam as a hobo.

If its better than double agent then Im alright with.Better be even better than Chaoes Thoery though.
well they did say they had to scrap most of what they were working on because it was exactly Assassin's Creed
I heard that Assassins Creed is what Ubi was going for in Conviction so they are rebuilding it. Major rumor though, have no idea if it is true.
am i the only one not excited about conviction at all? after playing through double agent ... i just fell out of love with the series.
what they need to do is ship it to crystal dynamics ... and have them work it out like they did with tomb raider ... ;)
it worked for eidos! why not ubisoft?!

Last I saw/heard of that game was over a year ago in some magazine,I believe the big rumor(and probable truth) is that the way they had the game structured,it was starting just to seem like another kind of Assassin's Creed, and since that game did somewhat good, they are redoing every possible aspect of Splinter Cell-Conviction,so of course it won't be out for a long time,if this is in fact true.

"I'm almost positive that the next time we see the game, it will look NOTHING like the screens we see now"Yeah, Probably wont be called conviction as well
Well the way the main part of the gameplay was laid out,Assassin's Creed used the crowd's in areas as a form of "social stealth" as they called it,a way to blend in and not be noticed as easily, and Conviction was basically using this same exact mechanic. Other than amped up fist fighting that looked more like a brawler than anything else,it really didn't seem to suit the game well I guess.
