In breaking news this evening Sam Fisher will not be coming home this Christmas. Ubisoft believes the game will be ready between 2009-2010

Please feel free to blame me entirely for this news.

    Thank you

Seems few people note fiscal year.  Since its all about profits, for all we know it could be delayed a month to start a new profitable fiscal quarter.

For the time being, at the very latest is 2010 but for all we know, it could come within a year, there is no definitive date.

This game is going to be complete crap anyway. Ubi just give me another chaos theory style game, not sam as a hobo.

You know they are desperate to milk a franchise when they are willing to take away the best features (like the gadgets) to make it "refreshing".

Cant say im going to die cuz this game got delayed.
    1) I always thought of this as a console game.
    2) played it and didnt like it.
    3) The pc has way better games :D

The only ppl affected by this are the 360 owners, since this game will be "exclusive".

The reason this game was delayed is because Montreal team is working hard on returning the Splinter Cell franchise to its roots.  (I.E. Splinter Cell 1-3 style.)

Why is that? Are they completely rebuilding the game from scratch due to terrible early previews?

Kind of strange if you ask me.

I heard that Assassins Creed is what Ubi was going for in Conviction so they are rebuilding it.  Major rumor though, have no idea if it is true.

am i the only one not excited about conviction at all?  after playing through double agent ... i just fell out of love with the series.

what they need to do is ship it to crystal dynamics ... and have them work it out like they did with tomb raider ... ;)

it worked for eidos! why not ubisoft?!

Last I saw/heard of that game was over a year ago in some magazine,I believe the big rumor(and probable truth) is that the way they had the game structured,it was starting just to seem like another kind of Assassin's Creed, and since that game did somewhat good, they are redoing every possible aspect of Splinter Cell-Conviction,so of course it won't be out for a long time,if this is in fact true.

Well, weren't there rumours that they are rebuilding the game from scratch? Apparently they didn't like the direction Splinter Cell series is taking and personally I don't either.

Well the way the main part of the gameplay was laid out,Assassin's Creed used the crowd's in areas as a form of "social stealth" as they called it,a way to blend in and not be noticed as easily, and Conviction was basically using this same exact mechanic. Other than amped up fist fighting that looked more like a brawler than anything else,it really didn't seem to suit the game well I guess.
