Can't seem to find any reviews for Tony Hawk, any fellow bombardiers own this madness? I didn't even realize this came out until I went to Target today for groceries.
Tony Hawk: RIDE
Game » consists of 3 releases. Released Nov 17, 2009
The tenth game in the Tony Hawk series, RIDE featured the use of a newly conceived skateboard peripheral in an attempt, by Activision, to reboot the series.
Anyone actually buy this thing?
You can expect some more coverage of this in a day or two here on Giant Bomb. There was already an unboxing video and promises of further coverage a bit later via Twitter.
As for myself, I wouldn't ever buy something like that! lol.
There were 7 people on Giant Bomb with achievements for this game on day 1. Now there are 11, and that includes Jeff. That seems low for a major franchise, even at $120. Also, the average number of achievements is 1.5, which means the people who bought it aren't playing it much.
It doesn't seem to be getting very favourable reviews. Even though I never saw myself buying it, I was kind of hoping it'd turn out okay. Those games used to be awesome; too bad this couldn't reboot the franchise.
" Zero Advertising and Terrible Reviews? I'll be surprised if this game sells 500 copies. "Well it's pretty obvious Activision sent this out to die.
No. I hope no one gets it for me for christmas or something though. I would feel bad about hating it.
" I wouldn't even get it if someone offered it to me for free. "I'd take it for free, play it for 10 minutes to see what it's like, and then trade it all in at GameStop and buy something good.
In many ways you have to feel sorry for the developers. So the game is utter shit yes, but Activision commissioned it. Least they could do is support it in SOME way." @JeffGoldblum said:

" Hell no, I didn't. I have no plans to. I stopped playing Tony Hawk back at Tony Hawk 3. I tried Project 8, but as you can tell from my achievements progress on it...I put the controller away pretty quickly. "Hey Project 8 actually wasn't too bad. I'm glad they got away from all that Underground and American Wasteland crap. I think that game was actually a step back to the right direction for the series but sadly they took more wrong turns after Project 8. I've been a "Skate." fan since I played the first one but after seeing the trailer for Skate 3, I'm not excited for the future of skating games.
" @ArchScabby said:This pretty much marks the end of the relationship, right?"No. I hope no one gets it for me for christmas or something though. I would feel bad about hating it. "When you get it, go into the room opposite, wrap it up and then be like "HOLY SHIT I GOT YOU TONY HAWK RIDE TOO!". "

They play exactly like the early Tony Hawk games.
