A jersey barrier is an object often made partially out of concrete that has various uses in areas of automobile traffic. In video games jersey barriers (along with fences, automobiles (often "wrecked",) walls, outcroppings of land, and many more objects) are sometimes placed at the outermost edges of the area which is accessible to the player, giving the illusion that the barrier is serving as the sole blockade and in its absence the map would continue to be open and playable.
