I just picked it ups

#1 Posted by TLKnight (25 posts) -

I felt brave and decided to pick this "epic" up.

Is there anything that I should keep in mind while rolling through this or any tips?

Don't die because the death animation/sequence is long and unskippable.

I really need to pay attention and check my spelling before I hit the damn post button. I have a flipping college degree, I should know better lol

The only things this game got right is the loot and coop. people might like it but I fucking hated the control scheme for this game.

You know what? It's not nearly as horrible as people said it was. And yeah...difference of opinion and all that but people seemed quite annoyed at Dyack and wanted this game to burn. it's not the best game but it's far from the worst or the most boring game I played. It has cool ideas actually. The menus are a bit clunky and slow to load. I actually found the battle quite fun, very fluid. What does this game cost today? 10-20 dollars? It's worth it.

Pick Ranger, stay back and shoot things.

Go to the in game store, click the dlc tab, look at it, then look towards the sky slowly shaking your head back and forth while trying to hold back a tear/laughter.

Also the game is only like 4 levels long and encourages replaying levels while also being very loot focused (it's basically a console diablo). You're probably not going to get much out of the game if you don't enjoy the loot part.

Have fun! I know I didn't.

#9 Posted by TLKnight (25 posts) -

Hmmmm this does not bode well for me lol

I really liked the game, but yeah, the death animation takes way too long.

Hahaha I picked that up in the same purchase when I traded in Prototype 2

I played the dude with a gun, unsure why it existed since the analog stick combat was a big focus of the game. Regardless he was overpowered and I had no problem doing anything in the game as him.

I'd say though just pick whatever you want. Unless you're going after achievements (don't do that please) the game is pretty damn easy.

Avoid death at any cost, otherwise use the time to make a tea or coffee.

Honestly this is the only exclusive I miss from not having an Xbox anymore. That must make me some kind of crazy person.

I think I remember a valid tip. If you're going melee, keep your stick motions fluid. Don't rapidly click all over the place like Diablo (for some reason I did this in the back half of the game, and made it way harder for myself than it needed to be). Hold in the direction of your first target, then smoothly roll the stick around to the direction of the next target, this maximizes your damage and minimizes the chance that some cyber-goblin will interrupt your combo.

I'll second this. Along with Two Worlds, it's one of those games that's no where near as bad as some people make out. There's a lot of jankyness, but if you're willing to look past it, and put in a bit of effort, there's a decent gameplay experience.

Too Human is the only game that I've ever actively hated while playing.

Naw, you're fine. It makes sense if you read it in the Ice T voice.

#25 Posted by CornBREDX (5094 posts) -

The controls are awful and will eventually kill momentum or will to play it. If you can get past that, and how ugly and boring the visuals tend to be, you may be fine with it.

#26 Posted by mazik765 (2315 posts) -

This game was awesome. The only part I hated was that god damn death animation. It's cool the first 10 times but after that....fuck.

#27 Posted by Akyho (1596 posts) -

Oh and dont die through an entire level and you have a 15% extra chance to get elite loot. And put loot % on all your gear it maxes at 50% I think...so don't put more than that on your guy.

Also make sure to complete runes and equip them I and many other people dont get that till too many hours into the game.

#28 Posted by TLKnight (25 posts) -

It seems alright so far, but man these controls are just wonky

Okay so you have Too Human and Darksiders? Play Darksiders. You got a dog? Use Too Human as a really shiny frisbee.
