The Raider's of the Lost Ark equivalent of Video games.
Naughty dog has always been the developer who could take ideas from other games and blend it well together in their own game. So it was with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, which combined platforming and heart pounding gun battles, with gorgeous looking environments. Although while that game wasn't a explosive Hit, Uncharted 2: Among thieves has just bumped itself into the flagship title of the PS3. Sorry MGS4.
What seems to be the focus point i this generation of consoles, seems to be the focus in Uncharted 2. This isn't a game you can watch and say it looks great, it's something your going to have to play for yourself. Watching Drake walk around in snow and seeing it cling to his clothes, or when he runs through water, his clothes wil get wet. Again this is something we've seen in games, but it's the detail that makes this game.
Hard work has been put into the single player and it shows. You might take a moment to just soak in the backround of the environment and wanting to go there, even though this game does follow a linear path. The controls in the game are something your not going to notice, because they work so well that they immerse you into the game, you won't even be thinking about which button to push next.
What should be keeping you playing this long after the story mode is the Multiplayer. Yes, Multiplayer, and it's just as good as the single player if not better. You get 5 vs. 5 Skirmish and team based modes. Up to three player co-op with 2 different modes. None of it seems to be thrown in there just because it's popular somewhere else.
This game delivers allot of bang for your buck, cramming as much content in it as possible. The multiplayer is amazing, and addictive and exciting with many different modes of playing. The single player is the greatest adventure in games and once you get to the train level you'll know what I mean. Your going to be hearing allot about this game, so might as well see for yourself what the fuss is about. You won't regret it.
