A First Look At DUST 514

This sounds intriguing, since there aren't many MMOFPS to begin with. Which console does it come out for? Both PS3 and Xbox 360?

As much as I would love a developer like CCP to succeed, I just can't see how they are going to make a multiplayer fps thats going to beat the halos and Modern Warfares while maintaining a link to EVE online at the same time.

Will be interested to see how they make it a "massive multiplayer" shooter, so far it just looks like a regular shooter which is set in the EVE universe. From this trailer it looks like BF2142. Nice vehicle action and explosions.

I don't think this is ingame footage. The camera moves are a bit too smooth to look like actual gameplay. But who knows, coz I think it looks quite pretty albeit another future scifi-ish shooter on the market.

Hey, i started off mining.  Now my alliance peons mine for me while I use the ships they build to blow the sh*t outta other peeps.  And this integrates into the EVE universe by using microtransactions into EVE to get your guns.  You buy "blueprints", which EVE players use in game minerals to build and then sell back to the Dust playerbase.  Really should integrate very well.  EVE supplies mins to sell via guns for ISK along with buying seiges in Dust.  Dust players need guns so they need the EVE players.  Now what I want is the alliances/corps in EVE to be able to have a same corp/alliance in Dust. "

Seems like a waste of resources to have a air transport pick up and carry one guy.

what is this killzone 2, 2? HIYO.

Eh... I'll have to see it in action before I can actually consider it. For a CGI 'target video' it sure doesn't look that spectacular like Killzone2's did.
 
Although I am totally down for a massive Battlefield 2143, this game doesn't look even close.

Rather it was on PC.

Sweet, I love MMOs! Especially FPS ones hehe...hence Planetside....if anyone else remembers that one :P

this will ethier be a truly amazing world first type thing or generic as hell.

I think this is a fascinating idea. I'm not sure it'll actually be any good, but it's fascinating nonetheless.

This is the first i've heard of this.... it looks quite good to me.

Finish the Fight, this Time Without Aliens

The most exciting thing about this video is the last few seconds showing it's made by CCP.  I'm certainly intrigued to see what they make of an FPS game but more particularly how it feeds in to the meta game and actually having an affect on the Eve universe.

It's apparent that your mind was already made up and you had a copy-pasta response ready (if not digital, then mental) for a someone who would "defend" the game he likes.  I was merely trying to explain what I find fun in EVE.
 
If you listened to Yahtzee's opinion (who, btw didn't actually experience the player corp part of EVE and merely judged it from the outside) and then accepted that as fact, then that's fine. I don't care.

I call World of Warcraft work and make fun of my friends for playing to grind; it's my opinion. They find it fun and keep on playing anyway.
 
To each to his own, but if someone else chimes in and says "I find EVE fun", don't come in and tell him he's wrong. 
 
For those with open minds: EVE is a very different experience than other MMOs. If you try it, consider finding a player corporation. The players are the people that shape the world. The people and events of EVE are unpredictable and remarkable.  The missions (aka "quests")  or mining are merely a means for making money to expand your collection of ships and equipment. I highly reccomend the player vs. player combat, though it will take quite some learning to become adept.    The game requires patience and a certain level of intelligence that not everyone possesses so don't feel down if you wash out.  Oh, and play the tutorial. It will help shallow the learning curve. "

I doubt that it's pre-rendered, mainly because the guys behind EVE Online are known for pushing some hardcore graphics.  However, we've been fooled before.

Wow, are we really still putting out pre-rendered FPS trailers? Didn't anyone learn from the whole Killzone 2 thing?

If it is pre-rendered, it seems to be very close to the game play that was demoed in October.
