Ask Me Anything: Halo: Reach

I am waiting for Brad to dish out those early invites he promised in the article a few days back. Doesn't matter if its only like a day or 2 early access, I need mah Halo.

Invasion is Assault Gametype from UT99. We've been asking EPIC for 10 years to bring that back. Bungie finally does.

All this objective based gameplay makes me think traditional Halo players are going to suck it up hard.  We witnessed it firsthand in the video with someone going for kills rather than dropping off the flag in the right place and on invasion no one defending objectives.
 
On the upside maybe this will finally teach some folks how good a good multiplayer game design should look.  Deathmatch is just old.

Not saying this is a bad thing, but Halo is looking more and more like Unreal Tournament.

It  definitely seems a lot more modern than Halo 3, which always seemed kinda outdated (but still hella fun) to me.
 
 I've always had a problem with the lack of COD style scopes in these games, it looks like that is still a threat. This looks great and it makes me glad i bought ODST. i think i'll enjoy it more than the game, it has JETPACKS!.

Been avoiding Halo since the first game but this seems like something I'd want to play.

I wonder, could you survive a stuck plasma grenade if you hit armor lock before it explodes?

So, can I rent ODST and get the beta thingy and play it off my HD without ODST in the tray? Or do I need the ODST disk to play it?

This is everything I've wanted from a Halo game or a FPS in general. They've taken what works in the present times and created, what appears to be anyway, the most comprehensive and definitive Halo game.
 
I can't wait to try this beta.

Man, haven't played Halo in a looooong ass time. This definitely hit me with a nostalgia bomb.
