Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 Revealed

Apart from the storyline, I'm pretty interested in seeing how the game functions in the open space of Gotham City (or where ever it takes place...Bloodhaven?)  The Asylum was a contained environment, so how will that work in an open setting?  Will it be an open world like Assassin's Creed 2 or will there be many invisible walls keeping us on a path?  I'd think it's too soon for them (Rocksteady) to be able to construct an appropriately detailed open world, so I am worried by the change of locale in this game. 

It's Two-Face, Penguin and Roman Sionis, by the looks of it.  It also appears that the whole of Gotham has been walled off, hence 'Arkham has moved' - Which echoes the 'No Man's Land' storyline.  

Pretty awesome, I just hope they don't rush it.

The sooner the better (as long as game play and story do not suffer).

this should have been announced at E3 2010. It would have been better and showed a little effort in making a sequel instead we get the announcement now and all it shows is that they want more money.

Please, Rocksteady, take your time and don't release this next year. Too many heavy hitters next year to risk it really. Going up against a Halo title and mass Effect 2, and GT5 and God of War 3 is crazy.

I bet this game will be called Batman 2: Gotham City. Kinda going the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare route.

Already? Doesn't this seem a little quick for a sequel? I hope they have something different in store though. Loved the first one and I don't even like Batman. I just hope this sequel is a little more to offer us then just a new building. 
 
I also totally understand why they would bring the Joker back. I mean seriously, you wouldn't be able to make a full-length game focusing on any of the other villains. There's just no comparison to the Joker as far as the Batman universe is concerned.

It seems like the entire teaser takes place outside of Arkham. Awesome! I hope there's still that trapped feeling of the first game though. Maybe a chunk of Gotham is somehow cut off from the rest. I'm pretty excited about Black Mask and Two-Face references as well!

I really hope the final title is not Arkham Asylum 2, mainly because I hope it's not set in A.S. again. How about Batman: Gotham City?

I played the first one, but didn't complete it. I have absolutely no desire to play another Batman game with the same story through-line. I was hoping that they would have explored some of the other wonderful stories that the animated series explored, especially since the director directed the actors very well in the game. I have no desire to play another Arkham Asylum game, I don't care how good it is.

Pretty nice trailer, it seemed to suggest you won't just be in Arkham for the entirety of the game which I'm really glad about, I wanna see what they do with Gotham. Hopefully it's a proper sequel and not just a rushed follow up that amounts to little more than B: AA+

Mark Hamill's Joker laugh never gets old.

While I'd like another game from the team since they did just about everything right, this smacks of marketing bullshit all over.
 
We can't call it something different because the "Arkham Asylum" ""BRAND"" is too good to not use.  We need to have the same characters in the last game since it might not be good if we don't.  We're too scared to do anything but re-tread the same game we just did, so it's going to be more of the same.
 
Take a couple of years, make it different, no Joker, no Harley, no asylum, expand on the combat, add a vehicle or two.  Maybe it will be good, but i'm back to where I was before the last game came out, skeptical and prepared for shit.  I was pleasantly surprised by Arkham, but this looks like a rushed project trying to cash in.
