Call of Duty: Black Ops II Takes You to 2025

19th June? One day off my birthday. No sale then.

It doesn't look all that great but man ... MECHS! and fucking future horses (I know they're not) I might buy this and it'd be my second COD game sience Call of duty 3 I remember that being really fun.

Effing horses. I'm back on board.

Holy shit! The premise looks absolutely stupid. That means I have to play it now.

Black Ops is my favorite besides COD4. I am excited for this. Treyarch has Infinity Ward beat hands down now. IW is just a shell of what is used to be. It is Kotick's plaything now.

This was so dumbly (?) ridiculous that I'm actually kind of excited.

Of course, when the initial thrill wears off, I'll come to my senses and decide that I will never buy this game.

Interesting. I've preferred the Treyarch games for some time now, and this looks just silly enough to keep things exciting.

If they wanted me to take this 2025 thing seriously those horses would have to have jetpacks and head-mounted ion lasers.

Looks less like a COD game than any other for the last few years.

It's pretty interesting, but whenever I see the COD "hand goes in front of the camera because my character is gonna die even though OH WAIT HE'S NOT" shot I kinda roll my eyes a little. I know, I'm jaded.

In 2012, that isn't enough. Bombastic on-rail sequences are still on-rails, and it still looks exactly the same as it did last year, except now we have walker robots and horses instead of tanks and ATVs, etc. It's frighteningly obvious just from the trailer that you can barely interact with anything that is going on. Why should I care about any of the crazy scripted shit that is going on if I have absolutely no influence on the action? Why should I sit through the same tired old shooting sequences just to to be rewarded with another nondescript cutscene that whisks me away to more shooting sequences (with no sense of progression in the interim), only to ultimately accomplish what is essentially just a checking off of criteria that needs to be in a call of duty game? Sure Treyarch seems to be trying to throw a new coat of paint on it, but the "campaign" ultimately boils down to these gameplay elements. A shell of interconnected events and incomprehensible plotting is still a shell.

I refused to buy MW3, but this looks kinda cool.....reminds me of Syndicate (kinda, maybe?).

Aha. Cool. So they didn't straight-up rip off the ice age concept, but managed to bring the series to some new ground all the same. Sure. I will gladly accept this as the next Call of Duty game.

I make a concerted effort to not partake in the CoD series bashing that has been so popular recently but I have to say...this looks strange. Like, series destroying strange. But hey, everyone is begging for a radical change, so maybe this is exactly what they want.

Terrible voice acting though...

This kind of looks cool. I want to see how far down the future rabbit hole Treyarch is going to go. I want them to just say fuck it and make as much ridiculous future stuff as possible. More ridiculous the better

It looks fine. I like the performance, as a PC gamer it's the only reason I can bother with CoD on a 360. It doesn;t look that bad and it absolutely runs better than pretty much all console games. Go play Reach, and Play MW3, and be honest, which would you prefer?

Looks like there are going to be some not real weapons (that machine pistol looked pretty Mass Effecty/Syndicate-esque), some Prototype (XMB8 or whatever it's called, the rifle that Mass Effect borrowed the design of) weapons, and some real weapons (the silhouette of that guy was pretty clear, that is an M16 ass M16. Without optics, it looks like (are we gunna see a certain older devil dog, insisting against the use of tech, preaching that the best sights for your rifle are located right atop the barrel, perhaps in the fight along side us?)

Was it just me or did every part of that trailer that looked like gameplay seem like it was on rails?

Damn it. After Modern Warfare 3 I had sworn off this franchise for good, this has got its nails in me though. At least it looks like they are going for some thing a bit more fresh.

well, I suppose proto-cyberpunk silliness is at least one step closer towards where this series needs to go. maybe by the time the next consoles roll around they'll just take the plunge into full on cyberpunk silliness. i would totally buy Call of Duty: 2084.

This looks nuts... Consider this the first time in a long time I've been in any way interested in a Call of Duty game.

What the trailer doesn't tell you is that at the end you find out that the whole game is just a story an old man in a retirement home is telling to his bored grandson. Then (in a surprise twist) you find out that the kid actually went forward and made this future happen. Treyarch is going to M. Knight this bitch.

You've got to admit, they are kind of smart. I think I'm the 96th guy on the comments section here being interested in this game even though my last CoD was MW2.

Except for the horses, that's really cheesy (Sarge, they took control of our tanks and choppers! Quick, hop on a horse!).

Looks like Duke Nukem crossed with Ghost Recon, on coffee... ....... and horseback..

Am also looking forward to the mini snow speeders firing the ropes around the legs of those four legged things... Hold up, with all the bastardizing of the franchise lately (Mr. Lucas).. is this the new Star Wars?

Call of Duty: Metal Gear Solid

Meh, never really liked or played cod games. But on a side note, if done correctly it shouldn't be possible to get a single "key" so you can control all unmanned vehicles. If these vehicles all have separate encryption then you'd have to either break all that encryption or have a lot of "keys". Also, it should be simple to have a kill switch signal that is basically unable to be turned off as well.

The graphics are starting to show its age...

The music in the beginning reminded me of Deus EX: HR.
