Devil May Cry? More like Fans Are Crying M I Rite?

My only concern about this is that Ninja Theory is making it, after Heavenly Sword I am gonna be cautious about anything that they're involved with. 
 
If Enslaved turns out well, I might be more positive towards this.

I never liked the old Dante all too much. This guy either, but the whole ''dude is fucking nuts or something'' thing is a little better than the old stereotype. As long as they make the game fun, and interesting enough, I think it seems okay.
 
Though, would have been best to see Virgil in his younger years.

I'm all for ninja theory doing the game, but it's the Character design I don't care for, that killed it for me. Will it be a good game? Sure, why not. Will I play it? Nope.

Anyone else got a hankering for a cigarette?!

I'm fucking heartbroken that they changed the look of Dante, that's such a huge bummer & it kinda seems like just changing something for the sake of it. Everything else looked pretty cool though, that was definitely some DMC craziness going on, cool enemy designs, the combat looked appropriately flashy.
 
A little concerned with the weird aslyum stuff though, really hoping that they don't do that Buffy thing where they propose that Dante's criminally insane & it's all in his head.
 
I love DMC & will remain open minded & positive about this but I'd always hoped that by now they'd have made a game purely about Sparda, Dante's father. The plot of every game so far has revolved around his actions in some way & pretty much all we know about him is that he was a demon who fought other demons.

Whatever this game turns out like, Ninja Theory have my eternal respect for quoting DAVID FUCKING HUME in their trailer.

Don't really understand why they made dante smoke, when the first game was made hideki clearly stated that he wanted to have a cool non-smoking character didn't he?

Warrant? Capcom loves outsourcing almost all their console games to Western developers these days. That's all there is to it. "

I don't Understand the hate for this game so far. It looks like the logical progression for the style that the DMC games have always gone for. 

Reboot. I don't think it has anything to do with the current series.

I was a fan of this series for a while, but I kind of think they should just let it die already.  At least go 3-4 years without touching the property or something...this trailer did nothing but distance me more from the series.

If Ninja Theory can continue the cinematic and animation mastery I've seen so far in Enslaved, I'll be interested. Not that I wasn't in the first place. :)

There is a white patch on the top of Dante's head, so it's not all the way black and I'm sure they will explain it
 
But I like the change, DMC games just got stale, 3 was cool, but 4 was was meh at best, and i think if there was any series that needed a kick in the ass to get going, DMC would be at the top of my list (with RE being a close second)

I understand they're trying to make him look young. The dark hair maybe turning white over the coarse of the game might make sense, but his face....doesn't look like Dante at all.

I don't know about Ninja Theory handling a new DMC. After the combat in Heavenly Sword I'm kind of worried about the gameplay. 
 
Edit: After reading the comments the new style looks cool, and Dante as a character looks cool. I always suspected him as a hipster in his younger day. DMC3 he's not that far off.

Now that's the kind of Dante I want to play as. Fucking ace!

First time this whole generation a character action game has even given me one iota of hmmmmm.

Terrible, just give this another name and make a real DMC.... WITHOUT those incompetent developers...

Never say never - It could be good. Im holding out hope.

I'm not really sure what to make of this. Will have to wait and see I guess.

What has happened? And did DMC3 already do this, or are they going much further into the past?

Just say its a spin off and make me happy!

I've never played a DMC game before, but this certainly didn't help much to peak my interest in the series.
