E3 2015: Princess Emily is All Grown Up in Dishonored 2

The first one had a lot of interesting ideas, some well executed, others not so much (morality system). Let's hope that this sequel irons out some of the glaring flaws of the first one and also expands on the existing systems to create a truly great sequel.

It looks to continue the tradition of radness the first one set out. Oh yes, I'm definitely looking forward to this one! n_n

I really liked the first Dishonored. Looking forward to seeing more of Emily channeling The Darkness. That dark grappling hook looked pretty neat.

But Corvo dies at the end of Dishonored...

I enjoyed the first one. I hope I will enjoy the second one.

I just hope we get to explore the unearthed ancient city that was referenced in the first game. And I really hope that the writing department steps it up in terms of narrative this time.

I want anything with a female assassin in it. Plus she reminds me of Chun-Li.

@bones8677: Emily is way younger in 2 than she looks in that screenshot. The game takes place before Corvo's death.

It is a bit of a light ret-con, as you would think that in the epilogue of 1 they would mention "Oh by the way, shit went down again and Emily also got powers", but I'm okay with it.

Really excited for this and to play as Emily! Also a good reminder that I should probably play the DLC at some point.

Didn't they say she was a new character when they were talking? That confused and bothered the hell out of me because I just knew that was Emily all grown up. (They even called her Emily) I think he must have misspoke.

The first game was solid! Absolutely deserves a sequel!

The description made me afraid they decided to rip off Bioschlock; glad that's not the case, it seems. Really digging the colonial aesthetic this time.

I hope that this game isn't so "black and white" as the other one. Getting tired of "evil" and "good" binary systems in games. Otherwise, hopefully this will be good. And on last thing--boo CG trailers.

I am so excited for this game. I ended up doing a no deaths/alerts and using only blink power run through the first game and it felt way more like a puzzle game than an action game.

Fantastic! Seeing Emily be the heroine of 2 makes me hope for a The Last of Us 2 with Ellie at the same age.

YEEEEeeeeeeees! Now this is a game I can get hyped for. You know, just yesterday I checked my steam-clock for Dishonored. 145 hours. I'm ready for more Dishonored. (Man, I should do another run through Dishonored)

I liked Dishonored, but I hope they rectify the issue of the "no kill" playthrough being absolutely fucking dull, or just remove the possibility altogether. Making the more exciting playstyle tied to the worst ending was really dumb.

I liked that in Dishonored, and I'm glad they're keeping the no-kill option. They said it's still an option in the second game. So good for me, bad for you.

Can't fucking WAIT! Dishonored 1 was amazing.

I don't mind them keeping the bad-good dynamic when playing no-kill. I just wish that most of your powers weren't tied to being a violent sociopath, since playing without killing was really dull for me. If you kill, you can go shoot a bullet, stop time, posses a dude and have him walk into the bullet. I could, I dunno, look through walls for a short while and teleport a couple feet in front of me, I guess.

He sounds like David from D4.

Kinda wished the game would have gone with new protagonists. Corvo's story felt finished and didn't need a followup.

This looks pretty promising. I enjoyed the first game so I will probably check this out.

Dishonored is so god dam cool, some of the best art direction the the industry.

I really wanted to like Dishonored but couldn't get into it. I get you can get it for a song at this point. Maybe I should try it again.

Or maybe I should just play this when it comes out.

@ghostiet: Yeah, I always role played as the pacifist in these types of games, and Dishonored was a total snoozefest for me. The story wasn't even that good (at least when playing with good karma) that it made up for the lacklustre gameplay. I tried doing into a second playthrough where I blast everybody but by then I had lost all interest.

Imagine if Infamous had made it so you could ONLY use basic melee attacks to fight enemies if you wanted the good karma ending. Now make it so you also had to sneak up on people while doing it, and then have to hold down the attack button for 3+ seconds each time.

Technically you could do that with the crossbow + sleep darts, but I agree with you. I also found it weird they wouldn't allow you to replace the sword with another power. It was a waste, since I was never gonna use it for my no-kill run. I think the Daud missions did add more "safe" gadgets, which helped somewhat.

After a quick google Serkonos is part of the Empire and it's similar to Portugal, Greece and Spain. And is the home nation of Corvo Attano.
