Final Fantasy III Virtual Console Trailer

I know the Virtual Console is all about releasing the exact original version, unedited, but would it really hurt them to change an "III" to an "VI"? It's only going to cause confusion calling it Final Fantasy III, when it's actually Final Fantasy VI.

On EU Virtual Console too? Because it originally never came out here.

And here I thought the newer 3D version of FF3 was hitting VC :P

I'm with @MattyFTM, they should be calling it FF6, and maybe use one of the fine fan translations available for FF6j

Still holding out for an updated release before playing FF6 again. Hopefully such a release will be something like the FF4CC on PSP where it looks like a higher definition version of the same game instead of the weird looking polygonal NDS ones.

I wish they'd just put the VC library up on 3DS Ware. You know they're going to do it eventually anyways. Being a 3DS owner is so depressing.

I would buy this on 3DS. On the Wii, little interest.

@Oni, Agreed. As much as I love this game, I don't think at this point even this is enough to make me plug my Wii in again.

I can see the value, but anyone who wants to play this has already done so on another system.

@Xpgamer7: That is a patently ridiculous statement because it assumes that everyone who wants to try a classic game was alive when it first came out, or has since owned a system the game was ported to AND took the time to play it then.

Comments about Ocarina 3D have disproved both those assumptions, and FF3 is an older game than that.

Alright I'm generalizing, but it has been ported so many times that there probably isn't a huge crowd awaiting it.

So how was this a trailer? Someone started the game and recorded the third battle and decided that was a trailer?

Why can't they just call it number 6? They did this with the GBA version. Is it really that hard? And also, I'm pretty sure when FF4 was released, they called it 4, and not 2, so wtf nintendo.

I would be getting this were it not for the infinitely better translation of the GBA release.

So the Playstation version of this game has been up on PSN for a while and I've been thinking about buying it, well...sometime in the future...maybe.

Anyone know how it compares to this version and the GBA release?

That was a remarkably uncompelling trailer.. and I love FF6. Also seems daft that they're holding onto the old numbering system, but I suppose Square wasn't interested in/couldn't edit the rom to change the one graphic.

Worst. Trailer. Ever. 

Slap an ESRB warning in front of a battle sequence and call it a trailer. Done. 
 
Reminds me, I should buy FF6 from PSN.

@RockmanBionics: I've heard that the PSN games still have a little load before battle. I've played the old PSOne version, and prefer the quick battle transitions of the SNES version (there are ALOT of battles, and time adds up).

Because that's how it was named in its original North American release, just as they called the Virtual Console release of Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy II. It's weird, particularly since later releases fixed the numbering, but given that this is a straight ROM emulation, there's not much that could be done without going to the extra effort of changing assets, recompiling the code, etc.
