Strange but I wonder out of the millions or however many people bought it continued to play it for any large amount of time or if it's yet another app that only saw people using it a few times for a couple of minutes.

 Please don't justify the iPad's existence by posting anything about it.

1024x768 is not HD. 
 
I can't believe Apple has convinced people that the resolution of the monitor I ran Windows 98 on is "HD".

Just tried FN last week and it's easily one of the most addictive touchscreen games I've ever played.  Mainly because it's unforgiving as hell.  Very well made product.

How is a resolution with vertical lines slightly higher than 720 not HD? At that resolution there is a discernible difference between standard and high definition video.  Anyway, whatever. I'd like to see a couple more "real" games on the iPad. Tetris and Geometry Wars are a good start, now I'd like a nice long RPG on it.  "

 There's the things called standards. 720p, 1080i & 1080p are one of the more common HD video modes.

Fruit Ninja on my iPhone is plenty fun, but I'm skeptical playing on a larger touch screen, where the precision slicing has to cover a greater area.

*sigh* Now I have to go buy a $600 iPad...

It's one of those "buy for a dollar, play for a dollar's worth of time" iPhone games. It has little lasting appeal past the first few games. "

Eh, looks like a nice time waster for short periods of time. But what really sold me is that it was filmed in a park right near my house! Go to it everyday when i go to uni :). Bit vague where in the park it was filmed, though haha.
  
Also, it would be kinda cool if anyone else recognised the park as well... :D It's the same one shown in the first trailer.

If you take a high definition copy of a movie shot in 4:3 (old ones like Casablanca for example), and put it on the iPad, it would be viewed in it's full high definition resolution (given that the movie was rendered around that resolution). 1024x768 is basically 4:3 equivalent of 720 "high definition". A term that has, and always will be a meaningless buzzword.   Another example with another format: if you have a high def 1080p copy of a movie that was shot in cinemascope 2.35:1 ratio, the resolution of the displayed image (not counting black bars) would not be 1920x1080, but more like 1920x817.   So in short, while the iPad is not technically "high definition" (though that word is effing useless these days), it's only because of aspect ratio, and it's plenty capable of playing a movie in HD, and looking significantly better than a standard def TV, and quite frankly that's all that matters.  Holy shit that was long.  "

I'm shocked at how few people here appreciate the iPhone and iPads as game platforms. This is a great game, and one that more than pays for itself within the first few minutes alone. And it's constantly getting updates.
